Did/are you taking it to a shop?
Personally i know i dont have the $5-800 laying around to have this fixed.
I'm trying to figure out if its something that can be done without the use of a shop. I was also told by one person that a 10K press (i think he said) was needed. Yet in a write up i read it mentioned nothing of a 10k press being needed.
I'm in serious need of some help-age. lol
Any information would be super awesome at this point.
I can't stand not having my Myrtle on the road. She's looking so lonely in the drive way.
Not yet. Because like you, I also don't have $500-$800 burning a hole in my pocket. my understanding is that you do need to have it professionally done because diff work is really easy to screw up. I really need to get it done within the next 60 days though. A shop quoted me in the $600 range, provided it's only the diff bearing.
Let's put it this way, any job which has $35 in parts but $600 in labor is a warning to the home amateur mechanic that the job is going to be very difficult to do.
