Ditching the swaybars???

those bolts do have a tenancy to sheer off, not that that's a big deal since nothing else bolts there, once removed send the stupid thing to the scrap yard and get a few dollars for the poundage

it's a anti-wheel lift bar.. if you put the kj body on jackstands, and support the rear diff on a floor jack, then droop one side like you're going to remove a coil, unbolt the bar then do it again, you can see the difference..

not really anything beneficial but you will get a little more droop available with it removed

Well if any of you want to take my rear sway bar off sometime, that would be nice. Might be in Ohio for my birthday in February.

The Dayton crew is the closest LOST group to me. Only time I'd be in or around your area is switching planes in chicago to go to europe :mrgreen:

hhmmm deff think the rear swaybar is coming off when I get back. Seems like I found some disconnects for the front someplace....I used to have an F150 with a high $$$ prerunner lift on it. I had 15" of wheel travel with that setup. Kinda wish I could get near that with my KJ because it was freaking nice. Oh by the way lol....heres my new CarDomain page, please rate me

I have removed both sway bars for the time being and if you had stock springs you would probably be dead at the first corner, I sheared off a bolt on one of my JBA Disco's I'm not sure how that happened but it's not the first time I broke a sway bar link I have broke 2 factory links as well they broke off where the bushing connects to the shaft. I thought it was because of the lift that I was breaking the stockers so I went to the JBA Disco's so I could adjust them out and set the angle of the sway bar back to stock. 8 months no problems then bang. I will be reconnecting the front soon enough as even with the OME's it has quite a bit of body Roll. The rear sway bar being there or not didn't make a difference on mine until I moved the rear shock mounts up 4" so it would actually Flex, Unfortunately now my Y-Link is the limiting factor on rear flex. 4 Link with slightly longer arms soon????

Ernie (neatus) with AZ kj's did an SFA mod on his libby and ran it with no front swaybar from Phoenix to Tucson all the time - until a deer ran out in the road one night and he rolled it a few times.

I would probably keep your front swaybar connected unless you are running off road. You never know when you are going to need that swaybar on the highway.
