Leatherneck, yes i got rid of the evap codes. I tightened up the gas cap, and replaced all the vaccum hoses and it has come back for about 300 miles. What replacement engine
Did you use? I got one from accurate engines.com im replacing the radiator and putting in a 195 tstat. Not sure what the new engine came with. Maybe this will
Solve the issue. I guess its feasable that the new engine is having a higher amount of friction in turn causing more heat..

GotEngines.com. Free shipping and 3year/36k mile warranty on parts and labor. $2850 for the long block. Had my local mechanic install it. I am happy with it for the most part. Doesn't sound as smooth as the original. It has a small oil leak that I believe is from around the timing cover also. I think that might be a mechanic issue though. It ticks all the time too, like a lifter but its got plenty of oil. I use 10w40. I wouldn't think it needs to be thinner than that. How did yours go out? A valve keeper broke and dropped the valve on the number 6 cylinder. It ticked rather loud for about 40 miles. Then the connecting rod let go. Tried to restart it about 4 times after being towed to the shop and then it locked up. When you say all the vacuum hoses, are you talking about just the ones above the rear axle or the ones up in the engine bay also? I haven't messed around with anything in the back yet.

Yea mine is a little quieter, but still a little noise to be heard. The oil leak may be just as simple as the oil filter, that little drip run is about where it goes. Well wht happend to
Mine is posted in the original topic, but essentially i had a loss of fuel or ignition, then tool ot to a "special" mechanic, best i can figure he shot ether in it to isolate that issue and destroyed the number 4 cylinder.

I was able to get the light resolved by just doing the onces on the front end. Also check your pcv valve

And yet another issue! After getting to operating temperature, when the engine comes to an idle, about 550-600 rpms, the oil light comes on. As soon as it goes above idle it goes off. Oil level is spot on. Thoughts?

Most will say to chnage the oil pressure sensor(located above oil filter) as it is a common issue.I would look at the sensor itself and if it's not leaking I would remove it and install a mechanical oil pressure gauge(tester kits can be found cheap at Napa and Carquest) and verify the actual oil pressure 1st before replacing the sensor. That sensor trips that light when less then 3psi is detected.
