Agreed that was a bit of a snippy post, but I don't think he was attacking Matt. I think he was attacking anyone who claims to not understand how to remove it, which seems to be no one specific.

In any case: I am one of the lazy ones who just leaves it on becuase finding a perfectly level spot of ground to reattach it after a trail ride is too much of a pain. On top of that, the wussy trails we have to run around here don't always warrant the work. However, whith quick discos, why not do it, right? I'll be all over these quick discos as soon as they're released.

Thanks Wally. I really like the increased capability of the disco'd KJ. Recall at the Wedgy you and JJ asking me what was wrong with my front end; the tires were all over the place. Disco'd and Frankenlift'ed is my answer.

Yah, sure, I'd like a quick disco solution but I can wait for a good solution. And the KJ only needs a disco in the most extreme of trails ie Calico, Big Bear, some Moab.

I designed a remote-disconect that you can build and install with only a saw, a drill, and a welder... I just haven't had the time to make it yet. See movie below:

Nice looking model. The disco is the easy part you know. It's keeping it connected during normal operation that's the issue as the forces pulling on the sawed off swaybar are enormous. So strengh of all those materials are incumbent. If the material, weld, or pin breaks during a turn then prepare to roll over.

Also the ground needs to be pretty level in order to get the pin in. You'll need a strong keeper on the pin also.

I'd also like to see a warning light that alerts when the pin falls out or shears. Probably a simple ground-fault circuit would do for that. Or course it won't be of much use if you're in the middle of a turn and the works flies apart.

Good design, but just some thoughts.

I gave up on the whole quick disco thing. What I did is just take the back off, and I never replaced my pin on the front one that I cut. So, I'm pretty much disco'ed all the time. It's not for the faint of heart, and it's dangerous. But, for my 50 miles a week that I drive, it isn't so bad....and it really helps wheelin!

But, never follow anyone who wants to jump off a bridge.
