That does sound similar ... nice find! Call me crazy but it feels good to hear another KJ make that sound (even though it still might be bad).

Yeah with all the weight and force on one tire like that, its probably just the clutch packs in the LSD getting a workout? Just a guess really. I'm sure one of the experts will chime in and tell us exactly what the noise is....

I didn't listen to the video, but thought I'd throw this in anyway. On my '02 I found that the u-joint at the rear axle would contact the muffler at full flex. You may want to check the muffler and u-joint for signs of contact.

To fix it, I took the muffler off and bashed the crap out of it with a hammer. Here's a pic after the bashing:
