I've been running that rack for about 8 months now, and it has been very good. I bought it and the extension kit, cut down the extension a bit and then welded hard mounts to the current rail mount points. It sits a little bit high, but with out a tube bender to make my own radius, I had to use what I could get.
Anyway, the Rola rack has worked out fine. I get some wind noise, but that is expected. Also, the cross rails would make a good vibration at highway speeds, so I weaved a tie-down strap and tightened it up good. That eliminated that issue.

They are made of good steel. Oz, they come from your area of the planet, how come they are considered new down there?

? Not sure ? The main ROLA distributor just said he'd never had them before ? All the KJ'ers around OZ that have now seen it had never before.

If someone can tell me how to attach 4 Hella 500s to the front if this I'll buy one today!!!

That front lower bar looks like a good cadidate.... Could just drill holes in it?

An alternative to drilling holes would be a clamp bracket like this bracket on 4x4connection.

That mount woudn't work on the front of this rack though. Since the rack has a single lower front bar a few inches forward of the top bar.

The light bracket would have to be able to clamp to a sing bar... or reach the lower bar behind it to be stable.

Something like this might work...

but it is just an angled piece of steel... I'm thinking I could easily make four of those and weld them in place.

I'm starting to think that for the price.. This is a nice bloody rack..

$149

I was just thinking that if the lights you were to get would have a gimbal mount, the bracket could be mounted on an angle and then the lights aimed to point straight forward. Just a thought and there might be other manufacturers of the brackets out there. One of them might work for you.

Yeak I think the cheapest and strongest route would be to buy the rack, weld a couple of brackets on for the lights. Then rhinoliner (or other brush/roll on bed liner) the entire rack before installing it.

I will go buy it now I think.... the price is definitely right...

Jeff

EDIT: e-trailers.com has free shipping on orders over $150... and the rack is $149.95... hahaha

I guess I better order a trailer hitch while I'm there too then...

I have a factory rack on the jeep with no crossbars, so I woud need them, on ROLAS site the dont list anything for jeeps? whats the deal on this, where do i get these crossbars?

What cross bars is he using with the rack? it looks like there is a Rola sticker on it. What is the weight limit on it?
