Just got a call from the hardware distributor. The collars are in! I will pick them up today or tomorrow and I should be able to get them shipped to everyone by the end of the week. I will post up once all of the collars are in the hands of the USPS.

All of the collars were shipped out today via USPS Priority mail...with the exception of hooperswitch's (waiting for a shipping address.) You should have them next week sometime. Enjoy!

Is it pretty obvious exactly where it goes? Is there a pic somewhere?
Thanks for making the order, and sorry you have to make an extra trip to the post office...

Not too tight being that it’s aluminum it might strip easily. Scoobybri should be able to help out on that.

I have no idea what the torque specs would be for the collar. With it being aluminum, I am going to be careful about how much torque I put on it. I've worked with aluminum heads before and they strip out easily if you are not careful. Although this is a different beast and is probably much tougher. We might want to ask some of the others who put on the collar to see what they did. I would Imagine a snug "hand-tight" would do the trick. It's not like the collar is bearing any axial load during normal operation.

Just a word of caution----Do not over tighten the collar,if you do you will distort the casing around the pinion bearing and put undue stress on it causing early bearing failure(leaks?).Then again it seems kinda worthless if you can't torque it down to prevent the case from cracking there, kinda a double standard ting going on.

Ever seen the price of a precision machined American made fly reel? Minimum $250. You get what you pay for...

nope wasnt bein rude at all, was just sayin i have something of unbelievable cost around here as well. i guess the fact that i can spin the ball enough to have it come back and hit the back edge of the far side of the table makes it worth it. thats kinda cool.

fun fun fun
