yea with my lift, locker, and mud tires, its amazing what my libby will get through now just pretty much idling through eveything, no heavy foot needed. thres been plenty of spots in the trail with DEEP ruts and lots of slimy mud and it went through it with ease, i was amazed. soooo all the money i put into the tires, locker and lift made it well worth it

Cool, let us know how the KJ does with the new gears on the hwy and off road. Better, worth it? Still waiting for my Trutrac for my front to get here.

Ken, make sure that you are using a highly reputable shop. ARB has some of the best air lockers on the market, however, they only work if install properly. Please make sure that you triple check your installer’s level of expertise. If you are unsure, you may want to call ARB and ask for a list of competent shops who have been trained and have adequate experience with their ARB lockers. I’m not trying to scare you, just trying to protect your investment.

Sorry about the slight hijack, but I'm getting ready to order a DTT for the rear of my KJ since I need to get it torn down anyway. Is this the correct part for the 8.25 in our KJ's?

any reason why the TT and not the Detroit locker?
I know that people say they "act up on the road" that was the old style not the new soft locker
I have the new version and in a TJ ,shorter wheel base makes it worse, and unless I get "stupid" I dont even know it is there
after only 4 or 5K and close to a year no funny wear on the tires however these are super swamper LTB's so that is like
10K + on most other tires in life span I also drive it as my weekend toy so it is 99% city or trail the only highway is to and from the trail
put it like this I WILL put one on the KJ and if the wife would allow I would do it today

I was talking with Jimmy Claypool over at West coast diff's he has a 4 runner and runs the Detroit TruTrac and has had zero problems even turning tight quarters. He uses his rig same as we do. So long story short Arb's front and rear with 4-10's $3300.00 installed( not including installing compressor cuz they don't offer that) Detroit tru trac front and rear with 4-10's $1982.40 out the door. Also his buddy runs them in a zj and has had no problems So I'm sold and dropping her off tomarrow night for a wed.s install.

My KJ isn't a trail rig. It does see snow and ice in the mountains during my weekly ski trips in the winter, and the ice storms here in Lexington are a lot of fun. It sees some pretty serious rain sometimes also. The closest thing to trails that it sees are hilly gravel roads that get a little mudy sometimes, and a little playing out at the farm. I really don't want something that is going to make noises, and don't want to feel it back there on a regular basis. The factory LSD just in FT4WD gets me through almost everything I've thrown at it. I very rarely need PT4WD, and have only used 4WDLow once, and that was just to make sure it actually worked. I'm thinking that a better LSD than I have now fits my usage better than a locker.

good reasoning
I just know of way to many people who want 1 thing but get another based on price and regret it later on
I was one of them on a rear locker and I would not wish that mess on any one

Just the other day my wife commented how addicted I have become to this Jeep thing. She thinks it's ironic that I now surf to a Harley forum, a Mac (Apple Computer) forum, and now a Jeep forum when just a few years ago I commented that my life was just fine without a computer. she's in getting locked up, we get her back tomorrow and will test her sunday. report to follow. oh also talked to Rock Lizard on phone and rear bumper should be here friday or monday.......... sweeeeet! totally can't wait.
