Yeah but our control arms total range of motion is far greater then your equation.The bottom of the front shock will hit the CV shaft way before you run out of downward motion of the lower control arm.At full droop I still have about 1/4" between the UCA and the coil,at ride height there is about 3"-4" of room.

that is good point. More reason to keep the contol arm in the middle of it's range. if the range is from bump stop to front of shock hitting the control arm, it would be better to keep the CA in the middle of that range. That would give equal compression and droop. if you have 6" of travel and the ca is in the middle, if you were to go over a 3" bump the ca could travel 3" up and then 3" dwn. the vehicle should remain stable. If the ca has extra droop at ride height you no longer have equal up and down travel. when you go over the same 3' bump the ca can travel up 3 but now it cannot travel down 3 so the vehicle has to move making it less stable lose contact with the ground alltogether.

People are alwayse going bigger, but most start bigger than 32's, so used tires are 33's, 35's, etc.... I'm on the look out though

what? why would the vehicle lose contact with the ground on a 3" bump? And why would it be unstable? we are not racing our jeeps over rocks at 50mph that it would be "unstable" im not sure you know what your talking about :lol:

What I find interesting is someone new comes on and right away questions what has been tested over and over again since back in what ??? 2002, 6 years worth of REAL WORLD testing (and all over the world)!

Also I think some still look at the IFS the same as a SFA, but they are different animals and they will not cross breed, what works for one will not work the same way with the other.

and then the name calling comes in next its funny yet really stupid as well

man you guys drive me nuts.... it took me a few weeks to decide to order from All Js OME HD and Ranchos....then I read a post saying it's gonna be too stiff which had me second guessing my order.... now I'm ok with it and this clown comes along and has me second guessing on my tire size, bump stops, control arms, stability.... my order is supposed to be here next Thursday... stop messing with my head..... no wonder there are reposts everywhere about lifts and all their components.... nobody agrees on anything. :roll:

I hope I'll like my setup and if I do, I'll kick a few butts on these boards :lol:

and thank the rest.
Yes I have stock size tires and I will until I need new ones.
Now what about the question that was asked earlier.... are there stops in the Rancho shocks???
