They stole my jeep this morning.. Please share

No, the Jeep isn't his anymore if he settled with his insurance company. They own it now.

He could potentially write his carrier a check for its estimated salvage value and take possession of it, I believe.

They obviously havnt cut him a check he's just now meeting with an adjuster. I'd have to backtrack this post a little more but I believe he said they wouldn't even settle for 30-60 days after it was stolen.

30 days... And there was a discrepancy with some paperwork that delayed me getting a Check for her... So technically she is still mine right now...

I'm glad they found it, but Jesus. If they wanted an alternator, battery and a rad fan so bad, they should have gone to the junkyard. Not stolen a perfectly good Liberty and trashed it, then took the parts they wanted anyway.

I mean, what the hell was the point of that?

Ah, I see. I assumed that since you had bought your new KJ that you had used your claim settlement proceeds to purchase. So yes, your original KJ still belongs to you.

If you haven't settled yet remember that everything is negotiable. So if they low ball you an offer on the salvage value, negotiate, negotiate, negotiate (assuming you don't want to keep your original KJ). If you want to keep the salvage then they'll reduce their total loss settlement offer to you and the Jeep will be yours.

I wouldn't even waste the time buying it back. Take the money and move on.. The insurance will not sell you specific parts. It will either be that you buy the entire salvage back or nothing. I almost guarantee though, if you speak to the adjustor and he/she is cool and you say you want the tires, They will give them to you. Or if you want this or that. As long as it's not like "I want the entire transmission". If you give some story how you saved up for months just to get those tires and wheel and didn't even have them that long. More than likely the dude will say you can have them. One of 2 options will happen to that Jeep. 1. It's going to be scrapped and sold for the value of the junk metal on it. 2. The tow yard or a junk yard will buy it from the insurance once it's shows up on the report to have on their lot to sell as a picking car for parts.

Of course, the adjustor can be a jerk too, but most i've dealt with are undestanding and pretty cool.

I just paid almost 4,000 alone September of last year for a new a new engine as well as rebuilt the transmission and serviced the front and rear diffs, the transfer case, and both driveshafts. New engine and trans mounts went in at the same time. On top of that... I have a set of ALS arms, boulder bars, intake, headers, magnaflow exhaust with high flow cats, my bumper bully, my hella lights... i installed freedom edition interior as well as renegade fender flares and also just installed a fresh set of the old style mtrs on soft 8s... I almost have to buy her back

Soooooo... My insurance company is going to let me tow her to the location of my choice to take my parts off... Then I have to give her back with all the stock parts... Sad day for sure but at least I'll have full closure... I put all the parts on with my bare hands and I'm gonna get to take em off the same way

I'm already thinking intake, headers, full magnaflow w/ high flow cats, front upper control arms, rock rails, lift, rims and tires, hella lights, LED tails (just bulbs) and third brake light, tow hitch, if I can find the stock interior I'll try to take the freedom edition seats, I might take the headliner and swap it with the one in my new truck because it is dyed black, also if any of my old door panels look any better than the new ones.. Those are getting swapped. The rear driver side window motor needs changing in the new jeep so maybe I'll see if that's in there too... This SUCKS...

It's nice that your carrier is letting you do that. Those extras don't mean nearly as much to them as they do to you. They just want to make sure they have a "whole" vehicle to sell for salvage.

Soooo after me nearly having a mini stroke because I found MY jeep( that is still titled to me and still has MY insurance on it....) UP ON AN INSURANCE AUTO AUCTION WEBSITE ... With auction date TBA!!!!!!! The insurance has decided that I can buy her back :0D
