if so then technically you are getting some LSD not locked up :wink:
True tracks are not lockers they are Limited Slip Differentials
Detroit Soft Lockers are lockers

Actually, Jason is making a valid point. You might be surprised to know how many people on this forum are new to off-roading (including myself). People need to be reminded that there are differences in products and sometimes terminology is misused and then becomes misinterpreted.

so true, so true, someone will find a used TruTrac for 100 bucks and wonder why the next guy just spend 800 on a ARB , using the right terminology helps a lot for everyone

SO EVERYONE THAT HAS LOCKER LISTED AS A MOD, OR EVER REFERRED TO A L.S.D. AS A LOCKER OTTA BE STRICKEN WHERE THEY STAND :wink: AS A MATTER OF FACT IF YOU CAN'T SWITCH IT , OR MANUALLY GET OUT AND TURN IT OR WELD IT ISN'T A LOCKER :shock: SO THAT'S MY TAKE ADIOS WING NUTS :lol: :D

Well actually there are many true lockers that you do not need to switch on or manually get out and lock in(that would be manual locking hubs,not lockers).The Detriot locker is one,it locks when torque is applied to it,same with many lunch box lockers.

Welding the diff is not a locker,that would be a poor mans spool,spools are different then lockers since they are always locked and can not be unlocked.
