Alright Guys I appreciate all the help. I'm starting to run out of questions regarding lifting my liberty.

I do have a couple more.

1. Can anyone dig up pictures of a Liberty with the OME and Rancho combination mentioned above beside a Stock liberty? Just so I can get an idea.

2. When I lift my liberty will it actually give me any more clearance to go over rocks? I was talking to my dad and he mentioned that when I lift my liberty the arms (forgive my Jeep\car ignorance, but it could be the arms\struts or axle? he just called it arms and struts) would still be low to the ground and could be hit by rocks. Will lifting it only give me clearance by the gas tank and other areas? But still leave the afore mentioned thing (I'm obviously a car expert) low to the ground that will require me to be just as careful over rocky terrain?

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the help. I don't feel AS clueless now.

your axles will always be the lowest point, and the only way to raise them is by bigger wheels, but as far as more ground clearance from your transmission, t-case and the underbody you will gain there to from just the lift

With the lift I'm going to be getting soon (I hope), I will probably gain the usual 2 - 2.5" from the suspension lift, I'm gonna add the cleavis and an extra rear isolator for an extra 3/8 - 1/2 inch. From the tires (i'm running 235/70 right now at 29" diameter) I am going to get about 3/4" lift (going to 245/75 at 30.7"). For a grand total lift of probably about 3 - 3.5". The tire's are actually the biggest decision factor to get the lift for me, I need to clear taller tires so my differential doesn't drag in snow so much.

But both the suspension lift and taller tires will raise the entire vehicle giving you more ground clearance, so no matter what you do it'll help go over rocks, just depends on the size of the rock.

So bottom line, No big tires = I'll still have two very important items only a few inches from the ground?

Just going to be more for consideration I guess. Still getting them Just going to have to rethink where I wanted to take my jeep.

technically...yes but if you get some good skid plates you will be fine and you wouldnt have anything to worry about, Im only running 245/75 which is about 31" and I dont have any problems

Nice looking jeep by the way, If you ever see a Black liberty with US plates on it waving at you that would be me. I'm trying to arrange a visit to Ontario this summer, I have some friends in the port perry\toronto region

ya as mentioned above the only thing that will raise your low points (LCA's and rear shock mounts/axle) is tire size, the lift will add clearance for everything else.

I really like that, Granted my tires only have 6000 miles on them, I bought a set of Duler Revo's AT, 235\65\R17. When I was shopping around I was told by a few people I couldn't go much bigger without rubbing or some modifications to the wheel well. I havn't had any issues with them except when the snow was up over my front end, Then I had to put it in 4lo.

Maybe a dumb question, but anyone with the lift in question and still the "stock" size tires?

I Will be, I don't plan on replacing my tires until the snow flies, I think ThunderbirdJunkie mentioned he used cherokee wheels or something like that to run stock tires.
