The only problem I could see in doing this is the plastic over the pinch seem is bigger. They may have pushed the rails down to clear that huge piece of plastic.

I know you want to make your jeep into a renny but why not just get the skink sliders? The renny rails can actually get in the way b/c you could of made it places without them where you cant without hurting them. If they do get hit they will bend!

My post "Rock Rails Question" might be helpful to you ... the dealership ordered rock rails that fit '02 & up and would also fit the renegade ... they said it was the only true rock-rails they had for the liberty - and - they certainly didn't work on my '03 sport. After probably about 15 total hrs at the dealership 4 of which I spent arguing - I was told that these bars are now designed to fit newer models specifically (see the evolution of flares & lower body design) - so older models just have to "live with" the ugly fit. AND I was told by the service manager that any add-on rails from jeep are not technically oem, but instead are mopar "aftermarkets" that will fit "similarly" to oem, read "crappily". For your time and money, and the quality of the bars (see posts about bending), look elsewhere - e.g. boulder bars. The dealership was only a safe bet insofar as I got my money back, barely.
