I figured since shows theirs off I'd go ahead and jump on the bandwagon It was practically scraping the ground to begin with!
Let the clevis wrestling begin
I used 2 ratchet straps (one for each fork of the clevis) to spread the clevis and pull it back, and a prybar to adjust it a bit more. I found that the front is easier to line up, so I put the bolt in from the front rather than the rear. Also, I forgot to put the boots on the rear shocks - do y'all think it matters, or would they mostly be for asthetic purposes? I think they'd actually stay cleaner without the boots, since the boots would likely end up trapping dirt. Up next is a set of Al's uppers, and some Moog lbj's. I've already gotten tons of compliments on how much better the libby looks! |

I did the same thing. When I say "I" I mean the guy that did mine for me, but I was helping as best as I could. We actually used that bolt as the point to pry off and hammered the bolt through the clevis once it was lined up. |

Looks good. Glad you discovered the ratchet strap trick for the clevis....you still deserve the medal though! |

HEck, if you deserve a medal then I deserve Two. The ratchet strap on clevis trick works wonders and makes it an easy job. I have worked on many KJ lifts now and that was always the worst part, (trying to get the dang clevis lined back up) the straps made it easy. Whoever first thought that trick up is who Really deserves a medal. It only took one strap on the forward side of the clevis and then a pry bar on the back side and the bolt slipped right in w/ only a couple light hammer taps. Congrats on getting lifted, looking good! |

glad to see you finally get lifted steve. What did your dad say about it when he saw it completed? You are in elite company in the KC area. I think you and me are two of the probally less than 15 KJ's in the area that are lifted. Parakeet |

Parakeet There are that many? I'd be surprised to hear that there are 15 of us out here that wheel, much less 15 that are lifted. My dad thinks it looks better now that it's lifted, I don't think he really knew what to expect until it was done. |

Thats the only thing I do not like about the franken lift, the front is higher than the rear. I guess that makes it a wedge though. If a rock can fit under the front then it just hits skids the rest of the wat out. |

Congrtulations on the lift. Besides the people I wheel with, I rarely see another lifted Liberty. I always park next to those "little libbys" to show them what they are missing. |

Welcome to the Frankenlifted club! And doing the work yourself makes it all the more fun. Now you're ready for some new shoes! Quote: I always park next to those "little libbys"
broncsrule - that's hilarious! I'll park on the other side of a parking lot to park next to a "regular" Liberty. My wife thinks I'm making fun of them but I'm just trying to show folks what can be done. Well, okay...just a little bit of fun. |

And yes it's nice parking next to a stocker it makes your look almost huge. I can't say that too often either. Parakeet |

Seth: I'm not making fun either, I just think they need a little direction. It's more of a "public service". |

Quote: the front is higher than the rear
That'll settle down. I actually like the post-lift look. After it settles the front is the same height as the rear but because of the body styling it will appear to be a bit higher. The Liberty, before it's lifted, looks like it has its tail in the air. |

Yep - more better when it's Frankenlifted I have yet to park next to a stocker, I'm looking forward to it haha. I did drive by a lady in one the other day though, she did a bit of a double-take. |
