How long do I have before they are totally done?

I have not yet done any wheeling and have only have my lift for a week. I am thinking that they tore open when I was doing the install an messing with that tight stupid clevis.

I see that jeepinAl makes A arms with replaceable ball joints, does everyone like this product?

I can't speak for everyone, but yes, it's a great product.

Well I don't know about everyone else but I love(installed them about 3 weeks ago)them, wish I had them 2 1/2 years ago when I lifted my KJ.It's really nice to be able to grease the ball joints for extended life(I also recommend the MOOG K3199 LBJ's to) and they look and function really well.

Thanks Mutt, I saw your write up about with the install. I am glad they are working out for you. They seem like the way to go but the cost will hurt the wallet.

Are the UBJ's replaceable on the stock A arm?

Thanks for the comment tjkj2002, looks like the way to go. I hope they last.

Have you heard any knocking when going over bumps after the lift? It would be too weird to rip both UBJ's during the install...I guess...unless you did the exact same thing both times. Usually they rip when they come in contact with the strut spring. Where is the cut? Is it where the UBJ would hit the strut?

Yes, it is the top boot right where it would make contact. when I did the install I was having issues with the clevis I really pushed down hard on the arms to try and get it to fit back in, I eventually dropped the lower arm to fit it in. I really think all that mashing did it because it was rubbing and hitting during install. I haven't heard any knocking while driving.

Sorry you can't replace just the UBJ,you have to replace the whole arm.I think the factory upper a-arms are about $300-$330 from a dealer so spending alittle more for AL' a-arms makes more sense since you can replace the balljoint and grease it too.

tjkj2002: Do the Al's upper arms prevent contact with the spring completely? (skyjacker coils)

Lovely! Well thanks for the info, looks like I will be emailing Al soon. How long do you think I have with these torn joints?

So far so good, when I jack up 1 side(by engine cradle not lower a-arm) so the wheel is off the ground I still got about 7-10mm gap between the a-arm and and spring unlike the factory a-arms about had that gap when the wheels are on the ground.

Are the ball joints used in Al's A arms Moog or some other brand?

Will Al's A arms still work with the bump stops, I was thinking if the arms are longer then they would probably hit past the bump stop? Thanks

Also I emailed Al is he hard to get a hold of, I gotta get these arms?
