I have a question on rock rails... I'm not sure what thickness the mopar rails are, but boulder bars come in either 3/16 or 1/8 steel with 3 contact points... I found 'rock sliders' that are 1/4" steel with 2 contact points

all these things are basically the same thing... so what are the advantages to a 'rock rail' / 'rock slider' / 'mopar rock rail' / 'boulder bar' / other in either tubular/square form?

The Mopar versions might be ok for light duty but if you wheel in rocks then you need something beefier. 1/4" is way overkill and heavier than needed. 3/16" square tubing is actually overkill too as you will bend the mounting points long before bending the actual outer rail. I would go w/ bars that mount to at least 3 spots on the "frame" and several spots on the pinch seam. All J's Boulderbars or Rock Lizards Skink Sliders are the best out there and both made from 3/16" tube. Besides that, they are both supporters of lost.

i agree with JJsKJ that 3 is better then 2 in regards to contact points

but i would like a set that had more then 3... like 4 or 5 would be ideal.... the pich weld contacts arnt that good.... they do bend.

How does your lift differ from the Franken lift? I also have a '06 CRD and would like a permanent front winch. How does the weight effect the springs and handling? Do you still have stock springs?

Yea I'd go with Boulderbars or Skink Sliders... besides, those in the link come from Rocky Road. I know some people have had good experience with them, but based on some of the other things I've heard about them, I wouldn't buy any of their products. But that's just me.
