i want to know, is there a way to use "D" shackles instead of the mopar tow hooks in the front? i prefer the strength of the shackles rather than the hooks that i have seen bend and break. |

Does the 06 bumper have different openings than the earlier ones? Slightly. I think the hole for the towhook is in the same spot. It's just the way its molded around it. But you have to pay to play. All part of the fun. Jason |

i don't have any pictures, but my friend who has a '02 tacoma had tow hooks. we got it stuck and we used my brothers dodge to pull him out. we looped the tow strap on and about 5 sec. into pulling, the tow hook snapped! |

You're not going to snap the hooks that W3CSX and I have. Not sure about his, but they look beefy enough. mine are rated at 10,000lbs each. with 5/8" class 8 bolts goings throught 1" stolid steel stock welded onn top of another peice of 1" solid steel stock. The frame is ripping before these tow points fail. |

Do a search in the fabrication section somewhere there I did a write up last fall. JFortier777 wrote: Anyone have any pictures of these alledged "bent hooks"? I'm not sure what you mean by "bent hooks" is this what you are talking about?
