Anyone replaced their slip yoke?

Apparently, mine has some worn splines due to some vibrations I had (due to a bad pinion bearing) and it now needs to be replaced. I get clunks slowing down to a stop.

I'm ordering one and will go at it but if anyone has done it before and can provide any tips?

Did you actually inspect your SY splines for wear or play? Your symptoms could also indicate a U-joint is going bad. I've never replaced the SY shaft, but I imagine you just take the front UJ apart and then install the new shaft.
And while you're at it, replace the UJ with a new greaseable UJ.

that is good advice, but yes, I have already replaced the u-joints with greasable and had it rebalanced as well.

I cannot see any excessive wear on the SY so I do find it hard to believe, however my problem is still there and with u-joints replaced and gearing checked it's the next logical step.

Plus the jeep dealer has says that's what it is too - they won't replace it under warrenty because I have "tampared" with the driveshaft (u-joints are wearable items they wouldn't of replaced anyway) plus my vechile is modified i.e. lift.... and yeah, they wouldn't replace the pinion bearing either.

Bummer about no warranty coverage. Guess you're on the right track. All I can say is check out the splines and bearings within the SY tailhousing on the transfer case, ie. the female end. I've never worked on a transfer case,
but I think you can unbolt and remove just the tailhousing. Good luck!
