Well, as of late i've been putting aside money for a lift. Heres what i've been thinking to get the ball rolling as i've got other things that i need to pay off... OME 2" coils all around OME 2" Rear shocks I cant afford new front struts at this moment, i will be able to in about 4-6 weeks. Will i be able to get away with upgrading the springs and leaving the front struts stock for a month or two until i can come up with the money for new ones or would that be a bad idea? I've got about $300 available to me to spend this week for the lift and i dont want to miss out on the deal at rustys. Am i on the right track or should i bang a left? |

IMO, I would price out all the components you will need for a lift seperately and then compare to the price to the Frankenlift. At one point I was trying to do the same thing you seem to be doing and realized that I was only going to be a little cheaper, but adding a lot of hassle. You may be able to get it for a lot cheaper, but at the time I was pricing, it was not worth the hassle to purchase everything seperately and pay seperate shipping. My .02 |

Ok i am gonna offer my opinion here. You have 300 hundred bucks put away right now. IF you buy those springs and rear shocks now and then save the rest for new front struts you will end up taken the front end apart twice which ain't hard to do but the struts are a big pain in the rear to take apart and put back together. I would keep that 300 put away and save up 165 more and get the Rustys coil lift. It comes with new struts, new shocks, and coils all around for $465. It will probably save you money in the long run buy buying the kit and you get a solid (if not a scootch more) 2.5" of lift. It seems that you are on a tight budget the way it is so "the almighty Frankenlift lift" is not an option. and Rusty's is just as good IMO. My.02 |

I'm in the same boat as you are. I recently took advantage of Rusty's offer on the OME HD springs. I ordered HD's for the front and rear and got them in 2 days. The $40 deal for the shocks is good as well, but I plan on getting Rancho RSX's for the front and back. I know the OME HD springs only give about 2", but that is fine with me. I thought about Rusty's lift, but while many are very happy with it some say it sags after a year or so. Plus many have said the rear shocks don't fit right and will rattle. I have never hear a bad word about the OME HD springs. I have no personal experience with either, this just comes form a year plus of reading this board. As far as price goes. If you search around a little you will find some good deals on-line for the Rancho RSX's. I've been quoted between $240 - $260 delivered to Pittsburgh, PA. Combine that to the $240 I paid for the OME HD's (Including shipping) and your looking at $480 - $500 (delivered) for an OME HD / Rancho RSX lift. The same price or a little less depending on where you live as Rusty's lift the lists for $465. Add a small clevis lift in the front and you should have a very good 2" - 2 1/2" coil lift for a very good price. At least that's what I'm hoping for. I'd say grab the OME HD's while you can. You'll have to call because they don't list the HD fronts on the site. I think it's the fronts anyway. Then grab some shocks when you have the cash. Waitng will be rough though. I've only had my springs for a day and it's killing me to see them just sitting there. I just checked and Rusty's complete lift would of been $544.75 delivered for me. |

You do NOT need new rear shocks with that lift. But, its best to get new front shocks so they do not top out so often. I would wait on the rear shocks and get the front ones. That way you do not need to take the front end back apart just to change the shocks. On the rear, its as simple at taking 2 bolts off and taking the shock off. I can do it in under 20min. |

So you'd say, go with the coils, change out the front struts first and go with rear shocks later on when money isnt as tight? |

Just so you can trust me.
Not much longer at all. From what I hear, the ranchos are much longer. So if you get those, you will get alot more flex than you will with the stock shocks. |

My.02 Good points. Taking apart the front strut assembly again to install the new struts is a pain. You might just be better waiting to go with Rustys full kit if the budget is tight. OME front struts are about 120-140 dollars new and Rusty's lift includes them. |
