Who here can tell me what components come from who on the Rusty's coil lift?

Are the springs OME or Rusty's own?

Are the struts/shocks OME?

And who has added Rusty's upper strut plates to this lift, and an extra spring isolator to the rear? Did that give anyone around 2-2.5" of lift?

Also, any opinions from people who are running this lift? I have seen good comments on the ride, don't want the ride to be too soft.

Thanks. I've got to get a lift ordered for my brother's 05 Rene and am leaning toward the Rusty's.

Rustys springs, and rustys shocks. You can get the kit without the rustys rear shocks and get the rancho shocks from All J's. Some people say they have problems from the shocks and some people like them, so Idk... :?

I love my Rustys lift. Had it out on the trail yesterday and it really impressed me (along with a bunch of TJ/YJ/LJ drivers). I would get the Rancho shocks though. I have had to torque the Rustys down since install, even with extra washers inserted to keep the clunk away. The ride is not soft but it does "handle" terrain tons better than stock. I got close to the full 2.5 inches with just the coil kit. The cv angles are pretty much dead level now so I know I have room for a clevis lift and a set of upper isolater pads on the rear.

I've installed 2 Rusty's kits so far.

They are his own springs.

Front struts are OME (Old Man Emu) - very good struts.

Rear shocks are what I believe to be some standard generic shock. Sometimes they have a tendecy to rattle because of the incorrect bushing size. You have to get the washers in there and get it really tight.

For the money it is a good kit. Could use an upgrade on the rear shocks. However, even still it probably the best bang for the buck.

People on here probably are getting sick of me talking bout this lift, but O well..... I love it :!:

I gained about 3.25" in the front. I installed the upper strut plate and did a little clevis lift. And the rear i got about 3".

All components are manufactured by who Eddo said.

As far as the shocks for the rear go. I don't know what people are doing on here, if they are not torquing the bolts down or what, All you have to do is add a couple washers and toque the bolts down and now rattling. Just add enough washers so you DON"T bend the mounts when you tighten it up.

The ride is a lot stiffer than stock and more responsive. I am probably going to upgrade to the rancho rear shocks when i get back though. The rusty's ones seem to make the rear a bit softer than the front. But if you order the kit just ask for the ranchos instead of the ones that come with the kit and all will be good. I love this kit and could not see paying anymore for any other kit!!

The extra washers did NOT work to keep the rattle away for me. Others too. I promise you I could not have botched inserting extra washers. Most of us deserve more credit than that. Sorry if i sound like an stupid but....

i have had and still have issues with the rear shocks rattling. i torque them down once a month, but the rattle always comes back. i have even taken the collar out of the bushing, filed it down to where there is absolutely no overhange sticking out of the bushing, and it still gives me the finger with those stinking noises. i have also tried a million different ways of inserting the washers, but to no avail.

im upgrading to the rancho's asap this fall, hopefully that will curb the gremlins in the rear shocks.

Never had issues with my shocks and I had fewer washers and did bend the mount as I tightened. No loosening or problems. This setup has been through two LOST Moab trips and numerous Colorado Rockies runs.

Come on now  , I was not trying to dog anyone on here nore their mechanical ability to insert a couple washers and use a torque wrench. I was just speaking from my personal experience with this. Probably got 6000 miles or so on this lift and only re-torqued everything after the first 150 miles and haven't had to touch it since, and thats with a lot of beating around the mountains up in the good ol coal country of PA.

I'm just trying to offer some advice that had worked for me to someone who is interested in a product i have and have "tested".

I think some people are mislead about the washers...they would only be a temporary fix. It is the bushing size that runs horizontally across the top of the shock...it is too big in diameter for the bolt. AllJ's has the correct "sleeve" for the Rancho rear shock...no rattling.

I see what you are saying Darby. Before I bought my kit from Rustys I called about this since i seen a lot about here. They said they fixed the problem. Well when I was puttin their shocks in I noticed I still needed washers, the bolt fit just fine in the bushing with no play. So did anyone recently by a kit from them with their shocks? If so did the bushing fit good around the bolt? Maybe they did fix it by putting the correct bushings in?

Like I said, sorry to sound like an stupid but. Nothing personal Kolesy. Hopefully Rustys will make a proper bushing in the near future. Meanwhile I would also reccomend the Ranchos to anyone buying the Rusty's kit. all in all still a great kit and I can live with "special" noises my Jeep makes as the mod list grows.

Got the kit ordered.

Thanks for the comments. I'm not worried at all about making the shocks mount correctly, I can make just about anything work. I have installed KJ lifts before, just wanted to see what the comments were on the lift itself.
