I have the OME HD rear springs installed in my KJ CRD, If i do not have enough weight in the rear i can feel a slight vibration coming from drive shaft at speed. If i swop out out the HD for the MD it goes away? I was just wondering what some of you are doing on a 2.5" lift because id like to lift abit more but worried about the vibration getting worse. Any help would be appreciated. |

Are you running the springs in combination with any spacers? You might be able to eliminate the vibes by removing the stock spring pad (at least until the springs settle). I experienced vibes but it was a result of trying to center the rear wheels in the wheel wells with RE adjustable control arms. Once I returned the control arms to stock length, the vibes went away. And my springs are sitting on Teraflex spacers! Also, check the tri-link's ball joint. Like Al said, the rear end is iffy when you approach the 3" mark. Good luck. |

Apollo is driving a CRD, maybe that is a difference from the rest of us...??? I don't have the noise either, but I don't have a CRD. |

Thanks fdezone, i have no spacers in the rear at all. iv done a 9500 km trip with 750 kg in the jeep and the second i got back and took all the kit out the vibration was back, its not bad at all, as the driver i can feel it and only if i point it out do others notes it, im just concerned that if i go any higher it well get worse. The thing is there is only about 15mm difference in hight between the HD and MD springs? The OME lift is a fraction over 2" on the rear. ill take a look at the try link ball joint. From what i can see the higher you lift the KJ the more the input shaft on the diff will turn to wards the ground taking it out of alignment with the output shaft of the transmission. This is because the try link is shorter than the two lower control arms so they swing on two different radius. I was wondering if i used two adjustable control arms and shortened them to bring the input shaft back up level on the same plane as the output shaft it would be better at the 2.5" mark? Maybe im worrying about this for nothing? |

I don't know what wheel & tire combo you're running, but if you were to install adjustable control arms for the purpose of shortening them, you'll probably rub on the front of the rear wheel well. Bullet might be right, it may be a CRD specific issue. Anyone else with a lifted CRD experiencing vibes? How bad do you want/need the extra height? If you have ruled everything else out, a more costly alternative would be to install a SYE and new driveshaft or look into fabing up an adjustable tri-link. That however would require more money and unless you're fortunate, some trial & error. Just thought I'd throw some more options out there. |

Thanks you all, ill spend some time and get more on the difference between the CRD and GAS. I'm running 245/70/16 and they do rub a bit so i guess ill have an adjustable try link made up and use the adjustable lower control arms and try straighten up that input shaft. I took some measurements tonight and its about 1.5 deg's out? Well thanks once again and ill post the out come of that ajustable try link. |

I've got a 2" rear Daystar spacer lift on my CRD. Stock Shocks. P25570R16 tires. No vibrations. No tire rubbing. Anyone above 2" in the rear for a CRD??? |

Im just wondering if there are some small changes made from the 2004 2.8 to 2005 onward, iv got the 2004 we have had CRD Liberty's and Cherokee's from when the first come out. so there could be a small change? Yet we have the same transmission i do know the motor out put on the 2004 is a little lower at 360nm and not 400nm as on the 2005. We to are having all the TC and transmission problems. |

Thanks for all your replies its much appreciated. My KJ is still at the dealer (going on 3 weeks) getting a new TC and Transmission so when its back ill have a good look at it, maybe it a balancing weight that has come off? Ill take it in in have that check out. |

Apollo, Here as short list of items to check for driveline vibrations. -motor mounts, it is possible -transmission mounts -u-joints -Rear UCA mounting points -Rear LCA mounting points -lug nuts -pull off the brake rotor retainer; it is usually on one stud on each wheel. It is just remnant of the assembly process, to ensure that the rotor does not fall off before the calipers and wheels are installed. -Compare you pinion angle measurement to stock. -tire balancing You also mentioned that you are having a transmission problem that may be the root of your problem. Good luck with troubleshooting. Rob |
