I have an 06 too. Are you talking about the ESP button? (It is on the steering wheel column just below the odometer) If so, do a search in the forum, you will find all sorts of topics regarding this. Also, there is a good write-up in the manual about all the different components of ESP (which traction control is a part of).

Also, I leave mine on all the time. It shuts off (partially) when in 4-Low. Hope this helps.

try this one first

When I first picked my '06 sport up I was so exited to finaly have my car after spending two years in Okinawa Japan with no car that I didn't pay attention to any of the buttons or lights right away. I remember going through a gravel parking lot and taping the gas to see how much wheel spin I'd get from the V6 and I was sincerly disapointed. I felt darn right foolish because it had nothing and it took me a day to realize that the little ESP button stood for Electronic Stablility Program and I felt like a jackass and an idiot. Next time I taped that little bad boy and tire spin was away. My previous Jeep was an '88 Jeep Cherokee with the 4L, K&N filter and cat back exhaust minus the cat internals and the torque isn't the same as the 'ol 4L but it has a wider power band in the middle.

Personaly I'd leave the button on for most driving situations. When you get offroad and your going for some fun then turn it off because other wise your going to heat up your brakes and your not going to have much fun.
