At first I thought that it was just a little bit of mud that the carwash brush missed. But after looking again (after I got back from OCS - 10 weeks later) its RUST! The good news it that I'm still under warranty and the owner of the dealer is a family friend. The service manager is aware of this...I told him that the OE rails are about 500 bucks on the MOPAR site and it would cost Jeep less $$$ if they paid for aftermarket rails. He liked that idea and so we'll see what happens Friday morning when I pick it up from service. Has anyone else had their rails rust at all? |

It's always good to have an owner of a dealship as a family friend. Congrats on the Frankenlift. Let me know when you got it. I would like to see it. |

Depends on your meaning of rust. I scraped my OEM's when I had them on and so there is surface rust on it but easily cleans off. That is normal. Since you are in Michigan and everything rusts there due to salting of the roads, humidity, and just being in Michigan By the way....Go Buckeyes |

Well the dealer called me this morning. Jeep said no deal with getting aftermarket rails with them paying the bill So I'll be getting a new set of OE rails, which is better than what I have now I guess. But I was really hoping to get away with not having to pay for some sliders from rock Lizard. Oh well, whats another $300, right? |

Yea EOD, I just finished OCS and now I am officially a butter bar. I did my time scrubbing latrines and buffing floors though. But we'll see who is laughing when we compare my LES to yours. |
