I was speaking to the guys at TJM R&D and was told if there is enough interest they would consider building a Bull Bar for the early KJ's similar to the one thats been built for the 05 + kj's that OZLTD has posted

what we have to do is send an email to info@tjm.com.au attention the National Sales Manager and let them know there is a market waiting for this product

is thier any interest out there guys

I think they choose to build backwards. There are more 02-04 models that are ready for a steel bumper than `05-06. In general, with the older models getting paid off, owners will have bonus money for more mods.

Agreed... But it's a clean, beefy looking bumper, however IIRC it was a good bit more expensive than the RL and over a hundred bucks more than the ARB. (darn I'm a cheapskate  )

I don't understand why they aren't interchangable??? Yes, the fog light and turn signal configurations were different, and even the front fenders are slightly different. But the new TJM bar should bolt up to an `02-`04 just like it would to an `05-`06, right? I'd retrofit the `05 stye signal lights if I had to. Can one of you aussies shed some light on this?

I dont know what the differences are but the fact that we only have a few options is disapointing after what, five years?

I was planning on Rock Lizards and looking forward to his 2nd prototype, but I also like the look of TJMs. I sent 'em an email, if anything more options cant hurt.

This will probably be as much of a surprise to everyone as it was to me, but in the six or seven months that I have been selling KJ stuff, atleast 75% of my sales of rear bumpers and sliders have been to 05-06 KJ owners instead of to the 02-04 owners. I thought for sure the older KJ crowd would be more likely to buy armor since you would think they are more likely to wheel their KJ since it was paid off, but I think what has happened is the newer KJ owners are more willing to protect their KJ since they are still paying for it, and still want to get it out on the trails with everyone else.

And as for the front bumpers being interchangeable, their are a lot of little differences in the model year separation that make it impossible to interchange.

I looked and only saw a complete bumper, is that what you mean or is there also just a bar? Got any pics or links to what you are talking about?

yes down under a full steel bumper is a bull bar, the one posted is for an 05 they are going to tweak it a little to suit the 02 - 04'

Do they not offer this in Australia?

The late model bull bar is not an option on the American website. Can we get that here?

please send the email if your interested

this is to ask them to produce the bar,

as a rough guide it will weigh less than the ARB bar , be winch compatible , airbag compliant, it will look similar to the 05 model prototype but designed to fit the early model KJ front end,

if we get a good responce the prototype will be made in the next month or so
