I had a TJ for 8 years and just bought a KJ last month
After reading tons of articles and threads, I want to make sure this setup will work for my 2006 KJ.

2.5" Rusty's Suspension Lift
265/75R16 Trxus M/T on stock 16" wheels

Thanks!

I would say you will hav etons of rubbing. I have that lift and i have 245/75 mtrs and had rubbing in the front on the pinch weld and the bottom of the front bumper.

Agreed, especially with those tires. They are sweet looking tires though.

This chart can give you an idea of the results, but use it only as a guide. Every combo is different.

Would an all terrain 245/75/R16 be much different than a mud terrain?

Unfortunately, the TrXus do not come in 245/75 16's. I had that setup and on stock 16x7 rims you will rub the plastic liner in the rear and have constant rubbing in the front. I got some Rubicon wheels and it is now much better but in both cases you will have to do some serious trimming. Ive got some pics here if it helps.

Yes, a mud terrain would be much better in mud. The All terrain will be a good all around tire. I find the general grabbers to be alittle slick in the rain. Ive yet to try and fishtail, but they didnt take the corners as good as I would like. I drive alittle fast, so it takes a good tire to make me happy.

No...it would be nice but I currently do not have them. The rubbing was happening in the front of the rears, but also on the lining. If you look at the picture http://www.flickr.com/photos/13657537@N00/5340869/ you will see the "shiny" part of the liner where it rubbed. The rubicons got rid of that.

Thanks! I hope the trimming pics were helpful. The "crack" was a lot of fun. All the more reason to vist MOAB!

I just did that lift on my 03 and 265/75's would be horrible IMO.
I went with 245/75's because I wanted a 6 ply tire where the 245/70 4 plys would have been a better fit.

I have trimmed things up a bunch, added 3/8" to the Clevis and still get a little rub that would be gone for sure with a different front bumper. My rims are 16x8 with 5.5 bs and I see now that a stock wheel 16x7 and 5.5 bs would allow for less arc and clear the size I have even better.
