So yesterday I wake up to snow on the ground, So i need 4 hi no problem. Then to make sure that everything is in fine working order I go in to 4Lo and then when I go to shift out I cannot get it to shift down even into neutral. I put the transmission in Park, Reverse, neutral, Drive, 2, 1 and it would not go down. After trying this for 2 or 3 minutes I took my foot off the break and it magically transferred out and all the way down to 2hi again. I do not recall having to take my foot off the brake to go in and out of 4Lo. :banghead:

Does anyone have any input?

This is a 2002 Liberty Sport 3.7L. I changed to T-case fluid about 5 months ago. Is there something that needs to be lubed that's not? If so can someone post a picture of what needs to be lubed? Thanks for your help!

It sounds like you still had stress on the drivetrain preventing it from changing. Kind of like being stuck on a hill with it in gear.
