I tried to buy those a while back but no luck. No one, not even aftermarket U-bolt manufacturers had a set for sale separate from the kit. Maybe check with a Jeep dealer to see if they have some extras laying around. |

Do you have to use that? Why can't you use two regular bolts in each side? I have not looked very close. Thats (M's) what is used to mount my brush gaurd. When I say regular bolts, I mean the ones made for shear...seems like that would be stronger than those "M's" Ok, I just looked (real Close)...Seems like enough finger space to put regular bolts in if you look up under the mount. Maybe that mount ain't even there unless there is an addition??? |

The reason for the M bolt is to create the equivalent of 2 bolts out of 1 part AND to be able to install the bolt in a very confined space. There is no way I can see to get in there to drop in 2 bolts (threads down of course) without taking apart the entire front end. The M bolt can be slipped up through one of the 2 holes and threaded around so the first end can drop through the 2nd (again, both ends threads down). I have an extra set I'm willing to part with for some cash compensation ($20 + shipping) from the mopar tubular brush guard I bought while already having factory tow hooks. First to PM or email me gets them. |

At first glance it looks as if that theory is true. When you are laying there..look up and you'll see a magic hole making it fairly easy to put bolts in. |

I talked to my dealer about the M bolts and they said they were looking at trying to order them from the aftermarket tow hook kit. I'll let you know what comes of it if he ever gets back to me. I am trying to avoid the front bumper/facia removal as well. |

Is my 02 is different? Is this pic where you are mounting to? Mine has all kinds of space up there? The oval dark area is a hole. http://www.thefergusons.us/kj/kj.htm Let me know, I might not know where the tow hook spot is. |

I would use regular bolts from NAPA. As far as the salvage yard thing, you might fair better ordering the things off the internet because of gas prices and time. |

I installed them last week and probably tossed the install instructions. It came with the 2 m bolts and 4 nuts and the two metal clasps with bolts. I'll see if my dealer can get me the part number, just ask for the aftermarket tow hook install kit and tell them that it has m bolts not the plates. He called mopar and it took him a week but he got them. |

I have two m bolts and nuts after the recent tow hook install. http://www.thefergusons.us/kj/kj.htm Only someone who really needs them please. You MUST send me a 1lb bag of peanut M&M's in return. the1jferg@aol.com A grade 8 3/8" 1-1/2" bolt from NAPA with the coat hanger tool will work. |
