I got my Frankenlift installed last weekend. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. It took me about a day and a half, but it was a good time. Just listening to the stereo and turning wrenches. If anyone is interested in checking it out there are pictures on my car domain site. I did the best I could with my camera phone, but some of the pics aren't the greatest. I really like the way it rides and especially the way it looks. A couple of annoyances though are the front fender rubbing. I pounded the pinch weld and even trimmed about 4 inches off from the edges the lip spoiler valence thingy. It got better but still rubs in reverse close to full lock. The sound it makes really scares the hell out of people in parking lots. A lady at my kid's daycare almost jumped out of her skin (sorry lady). I think the upper A arm smacks the front strut spring too, but that's not that big of a deal. Let me know if anyone's got any suggestions for resolving the rubbing issues. I figure I'll live with it until I can replace the front bumper. |

looks great!!! Those are the same tires I have on my XJ. I really like them. You must have gotten the 265/75r16's or 31x10.5r15's to get that much rubbing with the Frankinlift. I was thinking about getting some for the KJ next time, but I want a 265/70r16 and they don't make them in that size Those tires will rub even more when the lift settles down about 0.50" to 1.00" after a few months! |

Those tires might be the biggest part of the problem as they are pretty beefy. A little wider than a 245/75 and depending on your rim BS that could be the problem w/ the rubbing. I know others have gotten away w/ running them though. Sure looks dang sharp on that khaki Rene! |

Looks awesome. Let me know if you're interested in selling your spare stock wheel. |

Look at the difference between yours and mine. Trimming the whole bottom part of the facia got rid of 95% of my rubbing on plastic. I still rub on the sway bar at full lock but I can deal with that. Get the dremel out and go to town. Parakeet |

It is a BIG DEAL when the UBJ hits the Strut Assembly. If you can, find out where it touches and hose clamp some kind of bumper around the strut in that location...so you don't tear the UBJ boot of put too much strain on the UBJ... |

Thanks for the pics Parakeet. I considered taking off that whole bottom piece too. I'm not quite there yet though because I like the look of the renegade bumper and want to keep that silver plastic lower piece. I was considering taking a cutting wheel to the backside of those pieces to make room. Sort of how people with the sport bumper trim the corners off. I think it looks good on that style of bumper. I just want to remove material from the backside though so it won't be as noticable from the front. I don't if anyone has done that before, but I need to look into the rammifications more before trying it. |

Darby, thanks for the advice on the upper control arm hitting the strut. It seems like it touches the front fork of the Upper control arm an inch or two back from the juncture of the two forks. I took it out the other day for some light wheelin and haven't heard the clunk since. I'm going to keep an ear out for it though. I think maybe as things start to settle up front the angle of the upper control arm isn't as steep so it might not be doing it anymore. |

I got them and my tires at Les Schwab ( I don't like waiting for things to ship). The wheels are the Allied Type 51 Daytona. |
