yes, this falls more into the "performance" section, but i have a 4x4 so i went with this forum. I am looking to upgrade the exhaust, but i am not sure what i want to get. I have heard that the cat-back systems make the v6 sound like a 4 cylinder Japanese vehicle. Anyone have any input? how about the flowmaster 40 and 50 series mufflers in place of the stock? just throwing some more things out there, wondering

Wife has a Borla on hers and it sounds decent, low rumble off idle and loud when you get on it. Nothing like a ticked off bumblebee foriegn car exhaust.

Personally I love my Flowmaster muffler on stock pipes and it holds up much better on the rocks. The poor Borla muffler is smashed just from our Moab trip.

I have had a Delta 50 Flowmaster on my KJ for going on 4 1/2 years, it is still great sounding. It is very flat, and tucks up into the undercarriage real easy but, I did bash it on spring creek here in CO, but many have said I had no business on that trail in a Liberty... Until I tell them I made it all the way, then it is nothing but silence.

I have heard the borla, and I like the growl of the Flowmaster better, it is just a little lower than the Borla, but niether sound like a Japanese vehicle.

I love my 40 series Flowmaster. Taking off from a stop it sounds good in the cab. I have yet to let somebody drive off with my jeep and hear it from the outside but all of my buddies say it sounds really good and nothing like a Japanese vehicle.

Looks decent and it isn't too expensive

you can have a muffler shop weld on a flowmaster to your existing pipes for half that. The chrome tip will cost extra..

I looked around and have heard very good things about the Flowmaster 40.

HAHAHAHAHA sorry not to hijack but it changed that bad word to Japanese vehicle. Oh crap that is the first time I have noticed it. That just made my day. Todays PC kinda world just crackes me up. BTW if you really want to save you some money I think it would be best if you ordered the flowmaster online I think it would save you some money. I didn't want to wait to order one and found it in town and it cost me $160.00 installed but if I would have waited I could have got the muffler for 60 I belive.
