Why don't we all just buy OME HD Springs all around $220 inc. shipping, and some longer rear shocks $35. Now we have a good lift for $255. Unless the front shocks are blown why buy new ones?

Keep the "we all" to "you all", and you get um!
Most people aren't :D with just 1.5" - 2" of lift after they get it.

Who sells O.M.E stuff? I know AllJ's does as part of a Frankenlift, but do they sell just the coil lift without the "Franken" extras?

All Js will sell you the springs by themselves if ya want them. I got mine there along with the Rancho Struts, did go closer to home to get the rear shocks, If you get them go with Heavy Dutys, ride is somewhat harder but not that bad on the road.

All they sell is the rear HD springs, not to sure about the fronts. I would not get the rear ome shocks. They ride great, but do not let it flex very much at all. Get the rancho rear shocks if you want flex.

I like this idea with the addition of rear Rancho rsx17004 ($112) and daystar bumpstops ($25),
front Rancho rsx17505 ($164) and Rusty's strut plates ($30).
Now I am looking at a pretty good setup for $551. Any more opinions? Good, bad or otherwise?

i was running OME MD springs with the factory struts for a while and i would NOT recomend it, it made the front end WAY too stiff, while your pulling the front apart just replace the factory strut with a Rancho RSX17505 your KJ and kidneys will love you for it

Very happy with my OME HD springs from All J's, pre-assembled. Still sitting at 2.5 inches front and rear after a couple of weeks driving and a couple trips off road. Ride is great - not much stiffer than stock. Whether it settles any further over time remains to be seen, but if it stays over 2 inches I'll be happy. Also like the daystar bumpstops... they prevent the rear tires from stuffing too deep in the wheel wells. More room for larger tires!

Its an ideal time to replace if you have some miles on them and are doing a spring lift since they are being removed anyway. The ones I got from Rusty were .5" longer than stock so I suppose travel is increased a little out at the wheel.

I have heard that the OME springs are suposed to "settle" to about 1.5"-1.75" after a wile, but I don't know if thats compared to '02 pre-lowered ride hight or '03 up post-lowered ride hight.

If it's '02 then the '03 and up would be about 2.0"-2.25".

I just ordered the Skyjacker rear springs from Summit Racing on Sat,30th.

So wich lift did you get? The Frankenlift, or the OME HD?

I wasn't comfortable with the steep CV angles of the F-lift, so I went with the OME HD springs F/R, plus I did a quarter inch clevis lift which apparently gave me another half inch of lift. Sure was happy to see the ground clearance under the front skid plate go from 6.5" up to 9". Now the front has better clearance than the rear diff (except for those lower A-arms).

Edwin, you've had your OME HD for almost a year now, right... how much has it settled?

Jerry

What front shocks did you go with? Do you get Upper ball joint contact? Ive done a very small(1/8in) clevis lift and cannot get anymore withough the Upper ball joint hitting. I wish there was some way to make a bump stop likes on the franken lift, but since the spacer isnt there, theres nothing to clamp to.. :?

Jeepster... I went with the OME struts which are pretty much the same as the Ranchos. I did get pass. side Upper BJ to strut contact the first time I went over a speed bump a little too fast. No problem off road so far, but I tend to 'wheel really slow in the rough stuff. About a year ago I saw someone on L.O.S.T. had made their own rubber bump stop and fastened it to the upper part of the knuckle where it contacted the strut. I might try something like that if I get any more contact.

It's settled from 2-3/4" to 2.5". About 1/4 to 3/8".
