Post subject:  Price on Skyjacker Platnum installed?

I just got off the phone with a local jeep mod place and they have worked on a few liberties. I asked them about lift options they had available and he highly recommended the Skyjacker Platnum, they have put them on several jeeps and had no problems with them. However, they want $900 in parts and $700 in labor. Does that seem a little high? Or is that about average. With installation they did say it includes alignment, and if i come back in after 1,000 miles they will recheck everthing and retorq it. I asked about the frankenlift and he had never heard of it. Do you think this is a good deal or keep looking, im not in a hurry probably won't do anything until next summer but i wanted to see how much i need to set a side for the lift.

A little high?!!! The cost of the lift is inflated and the cost for labor is outrageous! Go somewhere else.

WOW! Sorry, just had to add my disbelief.

Put your location in your sig, that would be a good start. Then, find the 4x4 LOST group in your area, and get a wrenchathon setup. Buy a kit, buy some food and beverages, and get whatever kit you want installed for about half that total price you were quoted, plus you make some new friends.

Lift Frankenlift - 2.5" lift $775-$875 http://www.boulderbars.com/images/kj_pr ... rticle.pdf Article: The New Kid Gets a Lift (1/2006) www.4wdandsportutility.com

Lift Rock Krawler Xfactor 3.5 RockKrawler $940 www.rockkrawler.com allows for 31" tires
I've cut and pasted some of the different lift options (sorry if it isn't very format friendly). Prices appear to range from $280 - $940 for parts. I was going to mention that the lift kit at which you were looking has a tell-tall name attached..."platinum"...as in platinum pricing.

Here is a link to the Platinum coil-over suspension from SkyJacker. The labor price is too high though. Sounds like they don't want to do it so they quoted you a price that will make it well worth their time if you insist. Get a quote from someone else.
