Why does every ring & pinion set for the Chrysler 8.25" have 27 splines? Motive, Richmond, Superior, US, and Yukon all only list 27 spline pinion gears for the 8.25". Am I missing something?

Yep, those will work. As long as you are using a 29 spline differential there's nothing to worry about. The axle shafts are what have 29 splines and have to match to your diff. The gears themselves are whole other deal...

Ok, so the axle shafts have 29 splines and the pinion/yoke have 27. Thanks. Skyjump, which ring & pinion brand did you end up going with?

Although someone may well pipe in with 27 stories of this happening, shearing the pinion splines seems to be a very rear occurence. Other things almost always break first.
