Post subject:  Clevis lift question

Somewhere in this forum I've seen conduit nuts used for a clevis lift to prevent the fork from slipping and make it easy to get the exact same ammount of lift on both sides but does anyone know exactly what size nut and how many for 1/2" of lift?

2" washers. I would say aorund 2 for a 1/2in lift. Ive seen people use 3 before.. I didnt like the clevis being that far out of the fork..

I found some some locknuts in a scrap metal dumpster. They measure about 3" across and I.D. is about 2 1/8" they are about a 1/2 thick. I was delivering to a huge "fastener" warehouse and just happened to glance in and saw them. I imediatly thought spacer, so I grabbed as many as I could carry and tossed them in my FedEx truck and got back to work. If any one wants to try these P.M. me and I'll send you some to try and see if they work ( I havent had time to try myself). I have a couple dozen so if they work I'll send them to anyone who needs them.
Let me know-Dave. 8)

Is a 1/2" of lift safe without running the risk of bottoming out the strut?

Here's some shots of the clevis lift, I wound up using 5 conduit nuts on each side but one is tucked up inside of a recess at the base of the factory strut, I dident measure but it looks like a 1/4" of lift but I'm not positive how that is calculated as far as total lift, I'm also using a Rusty's 3/4" poly spacer (FYI about my rear lift, I'm using a 2" Terraflex poly spacer and an extra oem upper spacer)

Wow! That front flex is insane!

Whats the measurement from the lowest point on the front skid to the ground? I have right at 8.75-9" with the OME lift and 245/70 tires.. Just wondering how mine compairs to your setup..
