Ive been putting this off for awhile now, but Im come to the conclusion that with the type of terrain around here, I need some rocker rails. I was just wondering what everyone this the best bang for you buck is. I really like the way the skinks look. They seem like they would be something that is stock. They dont hang down, they dont stick out, and seem like they do there job just fine.. The only thing I dont like about them, is the fact that you can see the bolts that go through the pinch seam.. Is that just the one pic on his website? Or are they all like that? I cannot see them on the white libby.. Just the green one?
I hope no one cares that I used the pics from his site? |

Just FYI - you can see the bolts on the Boulder Bars too. Boulder Bars or Skinks are the only ones I would consider for max protection...so if the bolts are your only hang up... |

Let's see how they are attached under the Jeep...The pinch weld bolts do not really add a lot of support. Take some pictures of the underside and we will go from there. Later...Clint |

I dont have any.. Here are some pics of just the sliders.. Boulder bars:
Skinks: [img]
I think the skinks look stronger IMHO.. That diagonal bracing adds alot of strength to them.. Ohh, the skinks cost less too. |

I'm planning on installing my Super Skink Sliders Sunday and I'll post pics when I get them on. However, based on what I've looked at so far, I voted Skinks. |

Did you ever think of painting the bolt heads black or use a permanent black marker on the bolt heads? I never notice mine but then again, I have the prototype Skinks that just plain Kick serious butt. |

How much would you say the skinks weigh desertkj? I believe the shipping weight was 85 lbs. Theres definitely plenty of weight to them. |

Hmm, thats a purty good lot.. I like to keep weight down on stuff like that, even though they are important and need to be beefy... |

Just remember that you are putting weight down low and that will help keep the KJ upright. Beefy Skinks. |

I dont have experience with any, but after looking at all of the options, when/if the time comes for sliders I will be going with the SUPER Skink sliders for that little extra protection and good looks, plus it will make a handy step for reaching the topside.

Just wait until next weekend. Eddo has Boulder Bars; I have Skinks. You should get lots of good picts of them in action down in Livingston. Also, Now that I've got the Frankenlift on, and talking about 32s, my wife wants to retrofit the skinks to super skinks... |

So, are you going to sell the skinks? Or weld a bar on those to make them super skinks? |

I'll just need to get a professional welder to do it (or see if I can stop by on my way back from Moab...) |

I like my Skinks, on the '05 and newer you can't see the bolts unless you get undeneath. |

I have the boulder bars. Based on what I have seen here in Colorado I would equally recommend either of these awsome products! I have been very happy with my indestructable Boulder Bars and have see the Skink sliders take the same punishment wth equal durability. John ];') |

I don't understand why the bolts don't come from the inside out. In other words a clearance hole in the pinchweld and the threads in the inner wall of the tube and no hole in the outer wall of the tube. Maybe I'm missing something? Just for reference, here is a link to the 05 instructions, which in turn link to the 02 thru 04. http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/i ... s_05kj.htm |

If I understand what you are saying...I believe the bolts in the support rail go completely through the small tube and the pinch welds and then secured by a lock nut. You have to move the plastic out of the way on the 2005-2006's to accomplish this. John ];') |
