I had my Daystar 2.5" spacer lift installed last week on my CRD.

I measured before and after to see what I really got. Measureing at the rear hitch I got 1.5" which is not too bad - I think it was only supposed to be 2" for the rear.

The front measured 4" of lift at the license plate. Does this raise any concerns? I know that there was concern that too high a lift can cause U joint problems.

I did get the front end aligned.

Any thoughts? One might be that I measured wrong but I don't think so.

Congrats on your new lift.
But if you're measuring at the end points of your rig, you're not getting a proper measurement. Even if your lift did give you 2" in the rear, if you're measuring at the hitch, it will be offset by the amount you lifted in the front and vise versa. You really should have taken your measurements from the center of your wheel hub to the fender flare just above it. The way you measured will put the rear lower for every inch you raised your front. If you raised your rear, the front will also measure lower etc...

I calculated the effective lift at the axles based on the places that I measure the lift from. The calculated lift at the rear is 2.08" and at the front is 3.57".

This gives me almost exactly what the rear should do but just over a full inch extra on the front.

Is this a problem?

Just be mindful of the increased potential to bind up your CVs at extreme angles. Drive it with respect and calculation, and you'll be fine.
