what would it feel like? is it like unbalanced tires? when would i notice it? I just did a Rustys coil lift and now it seems rougher on the highway, it always seemed a little rought and maybe I am just being anal... I notice it the most over 100km/hr, more so at like 120 and im reving 2500-3000.....BUT when im off highway reving the same ammount it is smooth, I would think that if the driveshaft were to vibrate it would be in some rpm range and would happen all the time, regardless of speed so that makes me think it might be the tires....any thoughts? |

I get a very low vibration.. Its really a hummm around 80mph.. I think thats right around 2500rpms.. I only have the OME lift in the rear so im not lifted as high as you. The angles of my drive shaft look fine, so I do not believe thats it.. Could just be my A/T tires.. |

Yep, I got the vibe too after doing the Rusty's lift, clevis lift, and an extra upper isolator in the rear. I talked to Rusty's (maybe Rusty himself?) and he said that they have not had any reports of vibes after the lift. Baker KJ helped me take out the extra isolator in the rear, and that helped a bit. It seemed to have gotten better also once the rear springs had a chance to settle. BTW, I did the Rusty's coil lift. Hope this helps!! |

Yep, could be. Make sure to get an alignment too. Mine was pretty toe'ed after the lift, and that itself made some noises due to the tires not being totally aligned. Also, the driveshaft vibe I think is usually felt up @ through the seat and up the backrest of the seat. It also stops when you let off of the gas. |

A typical driveshaft/U-joint/ inner CV joint vibe will tend to be speed specific. A good test that I have used is when the noise/vibe occurs, let off of the throttle. If it goes away when you decel, it is probably bad U-joints. In an FWD vehicle, it means the inner CVs are worn. The best bet is to replace both U-joints. Inner CVs can be trickier because they are more expensive. To isolate a bad inner CV joint, the vehicle needs to be lifted up and hold one front wheel at a time. The axle that makes the most noise/vibe is the failed one. Tire vibration will increase or decrease with speed. IOW, you're going 70mph and the vehicle is vibrating. You slow down and the vehicle is vibrating less but not going away. That is tires. A vibration that goes away when slowing down is a U-joint/inner CV joint. |

The best way to tell if you have a driveshaft vibe is to put your hand flat on the ctr console of the vehicle whilst accellerating. IT should be a gradual increase in the humming vibration. It usually stays even if you lift off the gas and is completely speed dependant. |
