I need to add a rock ring before summer hits. Now that we are up North and out of the Southwest, I have to think about mud and salt and , etc.

I'd like to add the protection of a rock ring and am looking at RRO or Poison Spyder versions since they won't trap dirt, mud or road salt and still use the stock cover. Any pros or cons vesus a full cover from say Rock Lizard?

The full cover from RL is probably a lot stronger, but heavier.

I'd say if you got a diff. cover from Rock Lizard you would'nt have to worry about protecting it....look at that thing....
you could'nt hurt it if you had to!....And if he sells them for the price i heard he was anything else would just be throwing your money away.

I've got the Poison Spyder rock ring and I'm very happy with it. Does exactly what I needed.

But...if I hadn't already bought the Poison Spyder rock ring, I would have been all over RL's diff cover. I think it's far and away the best value in diff protection.

If you haven't already found it, my KJ Links and Parts site has more information on the various diff protection options available.

I went with the Rock Lizard cover. Considering the thing costs just slightly more than the ring, it's worth it.

The rocks are going to break before it does.

I got one too...my only complaint.....it was so beefy it was hard to hold with one hand while doing up the bolts :)
