Hi everyone - first time poster here.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an air intake for an '04 Renegade?

I've been looking at the K&N 63 (http://www.autoanything.com/air-intakes ... 6A0A0.aspx) or the K&N FIPK (http://www.autoanything.com/air-intakes ... 4A0A0.aspx).

Tell me what you think or make some other recommendations.

From what I've read so far, it looks like I will be a frequent visitor to these boards!

I have the K&N Aircharger and like it. Since I live in a dusty climate I have a cover over it for extra protection. (It's called the Drycharger protects against water and dust)

And welcome to the board!

broncs - where did you get the AirCharger from and did you install it yourself? Seems like it would be easy enough.

I bought it new from someone on this board. The install was easy, good directions in the box.

Stock intake w/ a clean air filter from Wix works great and flows more air than your KJ can use and it actually FILTERS. As soon as I figure out where to relocate the water pump (for the on board shower sys) on my wifes KJ I am getting rid of the FIPK on it and going back to a stock air box. K&N sucks Dust!

If you plan to hit a lot of deep water, do not go with the K&N type air intake, water has a much higher chance of getting in the intake than stock. Stock system works very well with deep water. If you plan to not go hit much water and looking only for performance, then a few options out there.

I say, go for the snorkel!

Since the snork uses the stock box, then a "better" filter for the box could work, but the stock seems fine. I have a 6x9 K&N cone with a rusty's cold air tube, and while the K&N makes a bit of difference, with the stock box the KJ seems to get off the line better, as though there is more low end torque.

drop in panel filter (K&N or the like) with the stock box.

i would def. recommend keeping the stock box

put a truflow foam filter inside it and be happy

or you can get truflow's kit they make , which comes with a new air tube and couplers and the filter as well

That kit looks pretty cool. Is it only for the 2002 and 2003? They only show the stand-alone filters for the 2004-2006. I wonder how well it works....
