Mines Pre-lowered and I honestly can't tell the difference compared to other newer KJs. Plus...mine is 5 years old and on the original shocks and springs....I'm quite sure there's been a little sag and that will make up for that 3/4 in. Once you lift it with a suspension lift it wont matter anyways....all of it gets replaced. |

It's quite simple... Pre-lowered KJs are the 02' models that were produced BEFORE Daimler-Chrysler LOWERED the Liberty. This means that the older 02's (like mine) have taller springs and sits a bit higher (around 3/4 inch like Jeepjeepster said) than the newer liberties made AFTER 02'. I've heard (not sure if its true) that not ALL 02' KJs are Pre-Lowered...only the earlier ones. A later 02' and on up probably wont be Pre-lowered. Jeep lowered the KJ because it was supposedly dangerous in sharp turns and had a chance of rolling. |

Why couldnt they just put rims with less BS on the libby? I just dont understand why DC thought they needed to lower the libby. My Jeep handles ALOT better than it did stock with my lift and rims. |

Looking at a '02 if the 4x4 decals are on the side of the jeep it is pre-lowered. If the decal is on the tail gate like the '03 and newer it came form the factory with the shorter springs. |

Check on your driver's side door for the date your KJ was built. I'm guessing you fall into the later 02' category, AFTER they lowered the liberty. |
