| Post subject: | DRIVER SIDE PARKING LIGHTS WONT TURN OFF???? |
I was out driving around in the snow last night, and when i got home the driver side parking lights stayed on even while the switch is off or the key is out. I pulled the fuse for that side, and it did nothing, i also pulled the relay out which had the same effect. When i pulled the fuse for the fog lights (which is not supposed to be connected to the parking lights), i was able to make the lights turn off. Would this have something to do with the multifunction switch? This seems odd and is really making me mad, i don't even know where to go from here. |

I'm not sure about the KJ, but on my LJ, the fuse block is not necessarily labeled correctly. I recently locked my keys in the Jeep and had read that I should pull the fuel pump relay to kill the engine while I wait for the pop a lock guy. So I opened the hood and pulled the relay that was labeled for the fuel pump and nothing happened. Then I pulled the one next to it and voila, the engine died. So there is a chance that the relay that finally killed the light was in fact the correct relay just that the block was labeled wrong. Just my $.02. |

Yes, all the fuses are labeled wrong in the kj also. Never did figure out why they cannot get that right? |

i think i may have found the problem to my parking light dilemma. There is a junction box under the rear seat on the drivers side... mine was all corroded, and actually had burn marks in it, signifying I've got a short. I ran out of time tonight to fix it, but i will keep everyone posted on how i make out, just in case any one else runs into this strange problem. |

What does it look like? Do you care to take a pic of it? Ive never seen any kind of computer under my rear seat. I heard the BCM was under there, but they moved it due to corrosion.. Guess they were right. |

well after taking out the back seat, i found a couple of connectors, on of which had alot of wires going through it for major things, ie. tail lights, rear wiper, locks...ect this is what i believe to be the junction box directly from the BCM. I did find some corrosion, and just cut those particular wires out and splice them back together outside the connector. After doing this i am basically back where i started, only now the lights are completely out, and have no intention of turning on. I am really frustrated now and really don't know where to go from here.... if anyone has any ideas, please post. I am also looking for a place to possibly get wiring diagrams, so i can see what each wire is, to properly eliminate them as the source of my problem. |
