Low tech 'green' solution: I carry a couple of chunks of 4x6 douglas fir - each approx. 16" long. I place one under the jack to elevate it, and the other behind the tire as a chock. Plenty stable Also, you can place one in front of each front wheel, and crawl the Jeep up on them if you need to work underneath the Jeep (yes - I use something else as a chock when I do this). Other uses include a hood stay for when your factory hood supports finally give out. Sad, but true. In an emergency they make great logs if you want a fire. Of course they also work for trailer levellers, and for traction in sand, etc. The downside is their size - they will fit under the rear seats, however. TL |

Not a definite solution, but you could get wood blocks to fit under the jack. Wide enough to make a solid base so it isn't tippy. |

HiLift jack under the backseat fits like it was meant to go there. Darby and a few others pointed that out to me. |

A hi-lift is super handy (be carefull using one). People usually use rock rails to lift the jeep with a Hi-lift. If you're carefull you could also use a hitch. Trickier if you don't have either. Oh, and open your doors so the jack doesn't dent them. |

You should be able to go to alocal salvage yard and get a jack out of a smashed up F350 ram ex. Iam sure these would be suitable for the lifted kj. and they will slide right under the rear seat. This is waht iam going totry anyway! |

That's the best solution I've heard so far. Thanks for the tip. I'll put that on my to-do list. |

I have. A friend of mine was high centered in a mud hole. Using three straps and the high lift we pulled him off. It was very easy to do. Except someone had to go into this nasty, rank water to pull the handle. |

i'm a in a sort of shell shock after seeing just how big the 48" hi-lift is (it just got delivered). this is a real dumb question but how exactly does it fit under there? |

riptricket you sure can its a bit more work, just a small tip place your straps as close to the ground as you can so you don't lose to much pull as it lifts the straps under the weight. Hi lift have a great chain attachment that can be used to take up all the slack be for you start the pull, works well. |

I load mine from the driver's side, base rotated with lift tongue pointed towards the driver's seat, and thread and jiggle the jack past whatever obstructions it finds under the rear seat. FYI, the rear seat no longer folds down with the HiLift underseat. A rear left passenger should watch their ankle on exiting. |
