I know i have seen a picture of someone towing a YJ or another model jeep with their KJ. I would like to see a picture if you have any of you towing with your liberties. |

I tow things with my CRD all the time, haven't took pics as I've never thought it was a particularly important event. Last car I pulled was a buddy's full race baja bug. |

I've pulled other vehicles (although admittedly with rescue gear...) but I guess it all depends on the gross trailer weight and tongue weight distribution. I thought about helping a buddy who inherited a classic Corvette and show trailer pull it back from a few states away... then I did the math on the weight of the unladden trailer. What exactly are you wanting to tow? |

I use a 2wheel car dolly to tow my Mustang around when it breaks down. I don't take pictures of that for obvious reasons. |

You need to get yourself a set of air bags Jeger. I bought me some for only $80 and they were very easy to install. I think they can hold around 1k+whatever the jeep can hold. |

That may be in the future for the little beast.. We really dont use it that much for towing though so its not a priority. It was funny when we put the horse in there, at first we let her loose in the whole trailer..when she would walk to the front of the trailer it would REALLY squat. So we blocked her off to the back half to where she was standing over the axles and it actually rode a little more level than whats shown in the pics. It drove well both ways though. |

That must have given you about 1300# of tounge weight. |

I didnt have any trouble with sway (no sway control either) Rode fairly well and the 2.8 pulled the trailer just as well or better than a V8 powered 1500 dodge ram. That sammy looks good behind the KJ BTW. I know someone on here has flat towed their wrangler...where you at? |

I have towed: A 16' Catamaran A 18' Catamaran A 14' ish Catamara (Lake-Ship-One, designed by a guy now employed by Burt Rutan) Several dune buggies (flat towed and trailered) A 50' glider A gyrocopter (the one seen on JD's monster garage background tape) A disassembled BD5 (on a trailer of course) Several cars (dollies and strap) I have even had an ARB liberty bumper strapped to the roof rack (not to mention a canoe, lumber, etc...)! So far so good. However, I must warn you about towing gliders. I took an empty glider trailer to Kansas City and it wagged the whole way there. If I would have let go of the wheel it would have gone right off the road, very divergent. I suspect the rear suspension was not quite designed for that! When I passed Semi's, the trailer would wag about 3' each way! It was a little better for the return trip with a glider in the trailer (more weight on the tongue), but not much. Oh yea, I towed a house once too! I'll post the picture as soon as I find it. It's too funny! Of course, it is a total setup, but when you see a house (not a mobile home), on wheels, on the side of the road, abandoned, how can you pass up the photo opportunity. -KooJ |

I made 3 trips like that, all with varying hills (some quite steep) from Central PA to NJ and Central PA to Update NY. The Uhaul trailers really force a lot of tongue weight because the car has to be all the way forward. Regardless I figure total tow weight to be ~5000lbs and I was doing ~75mph on all trips. |

There is plenty of power there and it seems to stop just fine, it can a be a little skitish in the wind and on bumps around curves on the highway. I used to tow with Sonoma before, that either "handled" it better or i just couldn't feel it tugging. With that said, I'll load it up and tow it across the country, just don't expect me to do it in the snow. |

Where did you get them? Would they work on with the Daystar spacers, or would I need an aftermarket rear coil? |

I'm surprised Uhaul rented you that trailer. In our neck of the woods, they wouldn't even let me leave the parking lot because I don't think that trailer and car comes in at 5000lbs. It all depends who is at the counter. |

Its approved, the counter jocky and their website indicate that. The Uhaul trailer is 2200lbs (thats what the guy at the store told me) and the car was not over 2800lbs. Certainly quite heavy...but I had no issues and my Jeep came without the trailer package so its just an adde on hitch and 4flat wiring. |
