The first pic is not for a KJ even ebay say's it is,it's just a generic pic for a control arm.The second pic is a KJ upper control arm, last I heard MOOG makes the factory arms anyway(as per DCX specs).

So, that's not a greaseable ball joint, then? Are AL's control arms still what's recommended for a lifted KJ? Yeah, I know, dragging this thread off-topic but, I didn't feel like starting up a new one. I put a 2.5" lift in my '05 Limited last July and now, my UBJs seem to be failing so I'm looking into replacement arms and BJs. Any others out there beside OEM or AL's? I'm also trying to figure out what else I may need to get my baby road-safe and trail-rated again. I've got Daystar sway arm bushings waiting for warm weather to be put in. Planning on getting Moog K3199 LBJs, also. Mostly just wondering what the true KJ 'wheelers' recommend?

Thanks.

Rusty's is making adjustables and will be available by spring.I will have my set of al's for sale soon as they are ready.Al's are great but I have an agrement with rusty to totally equip my kj with his stuff since I am a dealer for him and sorta being sponsered by him.

I'm afraid my UBJs aren't gonna wait that long, or I'd buy 'em for sure. Probably looking to get all this done in the next month or so (whenever I get my refund to pay for it all ;) )

Should have known someone would ask. It's RRO's 2.5" Budget lift. Poly spacers-rear, OTT spacers-front.

And 06LIB, I'm not sure if they're right for an '05. I've had a few websites that say they are but, we all know how reliable some of them can be. If anyone knows something I don't, please feel free to inform me. I don't want to be stuck with parts I can't use.

Just searched for the lowers on summitracing.com. The K3199s are listed for '02-'04s. They have nothing listed for 05-up so you're probably right, KJ04. Darnit, back to searching I go.

The lower arms haven't changed since the first on rolled of the assemby line. I have the Al's uppers and K3199s on my '05 CRD. Moog just hasn't upgraded their catalog, you see that a lot with KJ aftermarket parts.

Moog's "Problem Solver" bulletin says that the K3199 is for 02-05 KJs.

http://www.moogproblemsolver.com/downlo ... iberty.pdf

I can't find any evidence that that it will fit 06+ KJs, except that, while the part numbers for the ball joints are different, the part number for the knuckle is the same. So it seems likely to me that the Moog will fit in 06+ KJs.

You can see the part numbers here:

07 KJ: http://www.berrysprinter.com/07kj.PDF

I hope you're not planning to use the front OTT after replacing the upper A arms. Sounds like it's time for a new set of lift springs and front struts.

Only for a little while. I was planning on going with longer struts and springs later this year, as money allows. The ball joints are the biggest issue right now but, I agree, the OTT spacer isn't going to work for long.

Thanks for all the info on the LBJs, everyone. Now if the IRS would just hurry up, I could get them bought and put in! :D

Just checked with some guys working here with Libs, (7 Libs in the lot today) we all seem to have the same LBJ part number on our recall paperwork. Be advised not all the Moog LBJs are greasable, some with the same part number on them have no zerks. I think Al told me that the uppers were a NASCAR balljoint and not as easy to get.

Just make sure you get the K3199 MOOG balljoints, they are the greasable ones.

Thanks for all the info. I was hoping to hear that someone had already changed their 06' and up with moogs, but I'll try it anyway. I'm gunna change the upper arms, LBJ's, brake lines to braided (if I can find them for the 06'), the rear lower control arms to adjustable rusty's unit's, and rear braided brake lines (again, if i can find them). so I am hoping I don't get in the middle of a teardown like this and have the front LBJ's hold up progress ya know. And wouldn't ya know i, summit is out of stock and wont ship them till the 26th....the lib's about to drive me nuts

I sent an email to Al, asking about the K3199s and he said he's sold them to at least one 06 owner and they didn't come back or anything so I'd assume they're the right ones. jeepinbyal.com and amazon.com both have them for sale but, I don't know about being in-stock.
