Post subject:  Custom Lift Help?

I was originally going to purchase a rusty coil lift, but due to the high shipping and duty fews i am leaning towards tring to get all the parts to make my own frankenlift since i can get most of the parts in canada( Duty fews kill me...Just bought a M8000 winch and paid $140 for shipping and $103 for the duty fews to get it across the border..). I was thinking of getting the 926 & 947 old man emu coils(since there will be a winch up front), rancho RSX 17505 struts and RSX 17004 shocks.

I see that the franken lift comes with Daystar upper strut plates, custom designed Poly Urethane spacers for the front and Daystar bump stops for the rear. What could i use instead of this?? Would it be possible to use 2" conduit nuts for the front instead of the plate and isolators in the rear?? Not exactly sure?? Not 100% sure so any help would be great?

Thats sort of what I done, bought OME heavy dutys, Rancho Struts, shocks and did a clevis, Also I have made a 1/4 inch spacer for the top that when it gets warmer I am going to experiment with. Rides great. I got the OMEs from All Js and also the struts and then the rear shocks from Summit Racing.

What did you use for your clevis lift? And did you put any bumpstops in the rear?

I used the conduit nuts, on the Rancho struts the nuts will go up over the little lip so I have I think 5 per side right now, taped them together and working well. I dont have any bumpstops in the rear yet but need some, thinking cheap like a hockey puck or something.
Can I bring the parts up and throw them across the border to ya!??

Please tell me where and we can meet!! wouldnt that be nice!!lol
I contacted ARB and they sent me a list of their canadian distributers so i can get the coils there and the shocks and struts at the local canadian tire!! :) i think if i do it this way i will be able to cut the costs in half just about! So you had to use 5 conduit nuts? And how level does it sit an if you dont mind would you post a picture? thanks for the help

You need a friend near the border to help you out and save from those duty fees....unless you live up in the Canadian wilderness.
