I know it must be daft, or everybody would do it. But why don't people combine a 2 1/2" spring lift with a 2 1/2" spacer for a full 5" of lift?[/i] |

2 reasons .... first main one is that the reason we are pretty much limited at 2.5" - 3" is because of the CV angles ....they are pretty much maxed out at 3" so doing any higher with our current setups will cause binding on the CV and axles second small reason why, even if this would work with the CVs, that we dont do it, is that most suspension lifts incorporate some sort of spacers in them anyways |

What I had thought of along those same lines would be a 2 1/2" OTT lift (Terraflex makes a great OTT lift which includes extended bump stops) and combine it with a full OME lift for about 5" of total lift. This would work except you would also need high angle CV shafts for this to work, and it wouldent work on a CRD either (I tried fitting the OTT lift on mine and there are clearence issues with the left CV) but theres no reason you couldent do that setup on a 2wd libby |

Also not mentioned, the upper control arm would contact a stock diameter spring and shock assembly. Even on a rear wheel drive model. |

Exactly. The good thing about a SFA rig, you are not limited by the amount of lift you can add. If you can take care of the Drive-line angles, the sky is the limit(To a point). With a IFS suspension, it can only Droop so far before you are riding around with the upper A-Arm hitting the spring all the time. |
