if i get the BDS 2" lift, and install one extra upper spring isolator in the rear, can i install the rustys .75" spacer in front WITH the spring? or will that not work?? will the front sit too high then?

this offroad shop down the street from me has the BDS 2" lift for 440 out the door, i heard good stuff about the lift, but i just wanna get a little extra lift out of it

or i was thinking of going with the OME HD coils and buying shocks seperate(because i saw a member on here, or jeepkj, with a black renegade, 05-07 style, with tghe OME HD springs and i loved that lift and how it looked). where can i get the OME springs, and what shocks do i need? i think for the rear they are the 132L correct? im just thinking the OME stuff will be really expensive. thats why i was just going to go with the BDS for 440 out the door, i dont know, this is tough lol

you can get the OME springs from alljs or rustys. As far as the front spacer and the spring isolator...you may have to go with 2 or 3 spring isloators to level it out...2 or 3 of these gives you about .5 inch lift if i'm not mistaken. Check scienceguys write up on the rusty's lift in the tech section, he does a great job describing the clevis and rear spring isolator lifts.

Each rear upper isolater you add will give you .5" lift,1=.5" lift,2=1" lift, and 3=1.5" lift.Putting the .75" spacer should be fine to put up front.

I have had the Heavy Duty OMEs for almost a year now and over 24000 miles and love them. I got mine through All Js along with the front struts. Rear shocks from Summit Racing, Struts and shocks are Ranchos. PBURG just did his with about the same thing he just added the top spacer and upper control arms (which are on my list to do!) Great ride and handles well

if i get the .75"rustys spacer in the front with the BDS springs, is there a spacer i can add to the rear-bottom, like the rustys 2.5" lower rear spacer, but just not the full 2.5"? instead of using all those isolators?

because rght now im just going to do the 2" lift as BDS sells it, but im just trying to think for future what i could do to make it bigger if i wanted to

Why not just do OME fronts with a 2.5 spacer in the rear then you can change later if you want instead of going with the full BDS and changing it later....just something to think about

Heck you can get the Rusty's coil lift for like $50 more.

i just looked on rustys site at the OME coils, i can get all 4 coils for 200 bucks. they have:
front light
front medium
rear medium
rear HD

what would be my best bet? medium all around? or medium in the front with HD in the rear? mine isnt CRD, its an 02 renegade

then i guess i can get the shocks seperate, get the OME-132L shocks for the rear, and then ill figure out what to get for the front?

yea, but if i get the rustys coil lift, im still going to end up replacing the shocks eventually with the OME front and rear shocks, i dont know, this is confusing lol unless im making it more complcated than needs be lol

Know what you mean about confusing etc. ..........I ended up with the OMEs for a couple of reasons, they are some of if not the best springs you can buy , two, I could buy them and then get a couple of more bucks together to get the rest of what I needed. As far as HDs, medium etc I like the HDs and PBURG used the same thing so maybe he will chime in. Rustys is a good lift also as many on here are running it.

I would get Rustys front springs with OME rear springs and your choice of shocks all around. :)

I have two conduit washers under the clevis and the Jeep sits PERFECTLY level. You may want to get a spacer or two for the rear if you like the rear higher. I have some, but Ive not put them in yet.. I kinda like it level although sometimes I think the rear needs the spacers. Im kinda worried that the rustys springs will sag over time since the spring rate is only 310lbs. Ive had them in for around 3 months and they seem to be doing fine. Ive had them offroad once so they are settled for sure. Ive had the rear OME springs for around 1.5yrs.. :)

Get the OME HD and put your bump stops in. I didnt and mine are sagging prematurely.

Not having bump stops are making your springs sag?? :?

Without bumpstops, it lets it flex to much.. Or so some people say. :)

I see you already found MY POST about the lift I installed. Thanks for the kind words. If your looking to save some cash you can go with the OME HD coils and Rancho's all around with a clevis in the front. I know Rusty's had a special on the OME's and they DID have HD's for the front and rear when I ordered them in 8/06. They just weren't on their site. I think the OME HD's ride very well up front with the Rancho struts. Not too stiff at all. And the rear with the new OME shocks is great as well.

ok question, if i get the BDS kit, i know i can get 1 or 2 upper spring isolators PER side to make it a little bit higher in the rear...
but for the front can i get a 1/4" clevis spacer, AND the rustys top plate to go between the upper strut mount and the strut? or will that cause problems?

i know for the rear, depending on how many isolators i put in, i will need new shocks, when i can afford them, i will get the N132L OME shocks, and get the rancho shocks in the front like the frankenlift

but for now im just going to install the BDS kit as is, just wanted to know if i could do this stuff for extra lift in the future

because that place down the street from me has the BDS kit. i hate going in there because its like the lift is just staring at me wanting me to buy it lol, its just sitting there in the box...

i think im gonna go with the BDS kit, at least for right now i think its my best bet with price and all, close to home, its only 5 min away, he said no tax, 440 out the door

Not to make you change your mind or anything, but is there any specific reason why you'd choose the BDS kit over a OME Coil / Rancho shock set-up? I know little about the BDS kit, but know many around here (myself included) have some sort of OME Coil / Rancho set-up and like it very much.

If it's strictly about the $$$, I understand that. But the OME / Rancho set-up may not cost much more then the BDS kit it you pick up some sales.

its pretty much the money situation. i can buy the bds kid right there/now and have everything to install it same day
or i can be patient and buy the OME coils and shocks seperately. idk, im gonna think about it, thanks guys :)
