Looks to me like it just allows you to use a "Standard" shock and swap them out easier than whatever the Jeep comes with. Are these even for the Lib?

These little brackets allow one to go from the type of shock with the threaded upper end to the one with the bushing. I just used these on my son's CJ. The frame was shot, so I picked up a real (at least at the time it looked like it) YJ frame. Since we had the shocks and lift kit from the CJ I used these brackets in the front to adapt the CJ shocks to the YJ frame.

For the liberty, I can't see where they would be used, unless you are doing something really wild in the front, and needed to get rid of the strut.

We should start a new topic, "Name this part". Take a picture of a Liberty part, and who ever names it wins.
No? Maybe not. I'll just get back to work.

Nope, the Liberty doesn't need these conversion brackets since it uses rear shocks with hoops at both ends. These brackets are used on Cherokee XJ's (I know) to convert the upper shock mounts from studs to hoops. Apparently there is a larger fitment range of hooped shocks available than studded shocks.
