Post subject:  Hitches

Sorry I keep starting threads but I am not finding satisfying answers through search and old threads. My next upgrade is definitely a hitch. Wondering what people recommend. Most I will be towing is a landscape trailer so not too much weight. Looking for something that is relatively tucked, good quality, and reasonable price. What does everyone suggest?

I know that you can check out you nearest dealership and see what kind of prices they have, The hitch they put on is pretty well hidden. Also i know that hidden hitch makes one for the kj.http://www.hiddenhitch.com/ . I would reccommend installing a class III hitch, for the difference in price it would be worth it and you wouldnt have to worry if you did have to hook up to something heavy or get dragged out of a ditch.

I have the UHaul one although you can see it so if hidden is what you want it wont work. Only 100 or so for it though

The Drawtite hitch from Etrailer is a great buy. Its nice and hidden but the neck is also longer to help clear the spare tire.. Ive had it a couple of years and ive never had any problems towing with it. :)

Where did everyone get theirs from? I am looking to spend about $150 with shipping so trying to find a good deal. Also, do they usually come with the wiring or do you have to order that seperate? Thanks again!

for stock you can go to wyckoff chrysler or jparts:

Only problem w/ stock is that it is very tucked away and w/ some trailers you end up having interference w/ the tire so you might need a hitch extender or long draw bar.

Wrecking yard should be able to get you everything for that price no problem. There are 2 harnesses, rigs with and without overhead consoles.

Figure I would just quote myself.

Etrailer.com is a good place to buy the Drawtite hitch.

x2 on the U-Haul looks good I think & has gotten me out of a few stuck situations well worth the $120

Hey thanks for the replies and the suggestions guys. I decided to go with the Drawtite since I wanted something relatively hidden but that didnt interfere to much with spare. It looked like from Jeepjeepster's pics that this that the drawtite was a good compromise. Plus it was rated to pull more than the Hidden Hitch. I went ahead and ordered from Etrailer. Cant beat $0.99 shipping! Cant wait till I have a good recovery point.
