I picked up a used front skid plate and I'm wondering if anyone knows what size bolts I need to mount it... what size are the factory nuts?

The nutzerts for the trans/tranny skid can take 3/8-16 bolts. perhaps the engine holes are the same?

it's actually metric, 10mm to be exact. other standard bolts will eventually strip out taking it on and off.

3/8" = 0.375"

10mm = 0.4"

I forget which thread pitch for the 10mm but if you take one of the bolts out of the transfercase to a Home Depot or OSH, they usually have a bolt/thread finding jig to test the bolts for size.

I think it's 12 x 1.75 pitch - just like the TJ's :wink:

This is what I just used on the weekend to put on my rear tow hook.

Shares some of the threaded holes for the gas tank skid plate ....

MUST be 12 x 1.75 for the rest too
