I'm not talking cheap crappy spacers. I'm looking at the Spidertrax 1.25" hub-centric models. They are a good quality product that alot of off-roaders are using successfully. Now, here's my situation. As you can see in my sig, I'm lifted. Stability has increased alot since I put on the lift due to the springs, tires, and quality struts. But of course, as you go higher, there's a certain amount of stability that is subtracted from the equation. I figure with a set of these spacers, I could gain more side to side stability. The spacers would make the stance 2.5" wider overall. That seems like a good thing. So why aren't more people doing this? (Other than cost.) I know that some people go with different wheels and that does the trick as well. My only concern is that at full stuff at the rear, the increased width will have the tires rubbing on the outside of the rear wheel well. Anybody running a Rusty's coil and a set of these spacers want to chime in with a review? Any comments are appreciated. |

Doesn't matter...I just ordered a set from Northridge4x4. I figure I will try them and see how it goes. If they cause more problems than pluses, I can always sell them to a Wrangler or KJ owner who needs them. I'll post a report once I install them and give them a thrashing. |

I have put 1.25 spacers on, they are not spidertrax but exactly the same and not anodized, because the would have cost me over 400$ here in quebec, canada. so in my book, the spacers only keep you from rubbing the sway bar. but they add more problems than solved problems. I think it all depends on what tires you put, I have put 245-75-16 bfg AT and it is a really square tire. as you will see in those pics, they dont rub anymore on the swaybar but now on the pinchweld, on the flare in front of tire and on liner, but the look is IMO much more better, see the first pic the tire is mounted without spacer and dont rub anywhere exept SB and then with it. the difference is really noticeable. I bought them first to get the look I want my jeep to have(love jeep with tires passing the flare(miss my rubicon)) and then for stability and keeping it from rubbing the sway bar. it's not much of some littles problems to fix. now it run just fine and dont rub anymore. check the pics.

I have had 2" and 11/2" . 2" with stock liberty wheels will rub on the rear out side finderwell.I have no finder liners and no pinch well up front. only at full stuff does it rub in back. 1 1/2 would be the most that I would try.I run 265/75/16 coopers ATR .I had the Cooper stt and they were a schose wider and I thiugh the finder was coming off at full stuff. Here is full stuff with the ATR and it made a slight noise but did not show and tire damage. Also playing in the water

I'm running 245/70R16 so I'm hoping that I won't have the problems that those bigger tires do. |

As I've mentioned in other posts, I have 245/75R15 BFG MTs and only had to cut away a bit of the front fender liners (near the sway bar) before I added spacers. Once I added the spacers, I was all but forced to pound down my pinch welds and cut away a bunch more plastic in front. I still get only minor rubbing at full stuff in the rear. Here's what it looks like fully stuffed:
